Sting ray as in the one in the see, way back when I was a kiddie in the 80's! Used to talk to my aunt, uncle, dad and mum. Always had a responsible adult with me.

Wonder if there was a bear in the air?

Even better if it was a beaver bear

All of this passed me by, apart from Smokey and the Bandit and that Convoy song. It might as well be Polari.

Oh yeah excellent, I was about 10 and we had one at home, I just got a new bike and was always drawing rainbows on everything so my handle was 'rainbow rider' LOL I should use it as a profile name ... That would work ..... I can see the message titles now!!!

'Wanna come an ride my rainbow baby?'

ACK!!!

What used to get me was when we were listening people would say

10-4 yeah ya git me which was basically saying yeah ya got me, yeah ya got me

Or no negatory .... Always doubling up on what they're saying.

The point of the codes and abbreviations was to make it brief!!! LOL

Very entertaining though and hilarious in a Norfolk accent and far from it's origins LOL

My father was a huge CB fan, he was Cartwheel, my (then) husband was Screwdriver and I was Bambi. At weekends we'd play treasure hunt, always ending up in a pub somewhere. We also had socials where we could put faces to the handles.

Arrr the early eighties when the whole world it seemed had a cb radio. mine was Magnum, after the Vauxhall Magnum. was a good way of meeting new people at the time. A mate of mine recently bought a Land Rover and had every bit of kit you could possibly have fitted and one of them was a nice new cb radio. I switched it on and thought I would re live my youth. well there is hardly anyone on it and the ones that are sound like sex pests how times change
