Think Jacqs mean for anywhere, so I can see what she means...sometimes if you only have 30 secs to capture and it is out of focus you may well be left what you consider to not be a good photograph.

It takes a lot of pics taken at meets before I will be happy with one, maybe two to post on here. It might be more honest to post pics of me how I usually am (frumpy in jeans and jumper) but I would rather try and attract people.

Pictures in daylight can be a good way to begin. Sunlight streaming through a window can make for a good portrait. Outside at sunset also. The best advice is practise practise and practise some more. Submit your photos to photographic critique forums and accept criticism and advice.

Nobody starts out as an expert - we all have to learn.

Another thing, shoot in RAW if you have a camera that does, cameras that do never lie but it how you process the image!

Most compacts make decisions for you, which may be right or wrong, flattering or not....but a raw image you can work on like a piece of art.

Wouldn't upload any photos that we didn't like. But we don't always get the lighting right.

Always make sure that the background is tidy and we are looking half decent

Only ever keep a few out of around 100

shots.
