...if it from someones opinion i'd respect and knew well, then yes....but if it was from a complete stranger, then no!

Yes I prefer people who can be honest vs liars, people that tell white lies or people who are two faced.

Yes - would rather someone was honest and told me things as they were than gloss over problems and leave me making a fool of myself or doing something 'wrong'. I have more respect for people that can do that rather than pander to what they think I want to hear

Maybe they just did not want to hear it or face up to it... I know what was said to me was right as I'd been thinking it myself...

Brighton - even Hove!

"Was it brummies sound really funny ? x

Wasn't me! I for one have learnt a little about myself from being on here. That my jokes are crap, for starters.

I'd be accepting that people are free to tell me things, i would not say I would always follow their advice. I know me best.

Constructive criticism is good. Bad manners and intolerance with insults is not good.

My theory is if they are so rude/ bad mannered/intolerant then you are better off without them!

totally agree.

Also, I think that there's a way of saying home truths without being insulting or offensive

"i was honest the other day with someone and got deleted and blocked on faceache "

Have had similar and was almost glad of it as it meant they stopped clogging up my newsfeed with their constant whining about how hard done to they were! Chances are what you said was right on the money and so they didn't like it as they just wanted their ego massaged...could be wrong, but that's my experience

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I welcome it but I don't always welcome the delivery.

There was a post on here last year that made me take a hard look at myself. It was delivered well and I didn't take offence. If it had been written in a different way I might have been offended and not learnt the lesson.

Sure, I like to think of it as an opportunity for self improvement.

Prefer honesty... But as has been said before the time and delivery is what sometimes people ignore :-/

I would rather be told the truth than someone to think it and say nothing, but yes from someone I respect, not someone who thinks they know me, if I'm getting on your tits, or if you think I'm up my own ass, tell me....then I'll never speak to you again and sulk in a corner haha

There,s honesty and then there,s honesty that would hurt someone,

so we like to speak our minds but if it would hurt someones feelings and is disrespectfull we wouldnt say anything, as in recieving this no we dont like it unless done in a approiate manner

Angus & Findhorn

don't need them, I am totally aware of my good points and my lesser so ones. I know when I am being a hypocrite and a twat.

I am very good at giving them though

Nahh. I prefer to live in blissful ignorance!

Actually, at my age, I sort of know where my failings lie. I don't necessarily act on that knowledge but that's my choice - I don't really need people telling me what I already know.

I don't think anyone can tell me something about myself that I don't know already. I know myself well enough to know what my faults are, which are basically none.
