What’s your favourite pie.

Just recently there was a top ten printed somewhere that I obviously wouldn’t know because I’m not that much obsessed with the wonderful food type of pie.

I’m looking for those mentioned that was on it.

Also, I don’t mind a bit of controversy…. A fish pie?

Also, mushy peas is the only way to eat a meat and potato.

I'm really sorry to sound boring but I love a traditional and robust Shepherds Pie. It simply evokes the longing and anticipation of Autumn and everything Autumnal. When it's perfectly made you only need a smidgen of hearty gravy.

Eat it besides the log fire until the embers die down, wash it down with a fine red or mulled wine and then walk it off with a gentle stroll against the bracing breeze.

Chicken, leek and bacon is peerless.

I make one from a Tom Kitchin recipe. It has all the most amazing, unhealthy ingredients - white wine, cream, bacon lardons and a good whack of tarragon.

The most important part is, it needs to be homemade. By someone who can cook obviously. The filling, gravy, pastry ratio has to be bang on.
