If you have had a tough day, how do you reset? How do you wash away the badness?

Get out somewhere.

Shower and a cry.

Wine and comfort food.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I'll send you a boobie hug, MacD...

And I tend to let it fester for too long, have a bath and a big walk, by which time I'm exhausted and go to sleep.

In my line of work I encounter death more than most. In order for me to reset, I have a cry and then soak in a got bubble bath with a glass of wine while listening to relaxing music.

A lot of resilience and coping is just assumed in some roles. It must be tough.

I'm going to eat a lot of chocolate.

A hug would sort me out, but I'm on my own

"If you have had a tough day, how do you reset? How do you wash away the badness? "

A drop of brandy and a few episodes of trailer park boys does the trick.

Hey Mac, hope you're okay.

So, I do a number of things. Watching/listening to something cathartic really helps. A hot shower and early night in freshly washed bedding. And cuddles from the fiancé, talking to loved ones, platonic and otherwise. Not about my day. About daftness, things that take my mind off it.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine really helps lift the mood as well. Or Peep Show.

Normally I watch something familiar that I know I will enjoy - a sitcom, or some daft sci-fi/horror. Hugs if they are available. Maybe a Deliveroo and, most importantly, lots if chocolate and cake.

I tend to take 5 in a quite space, maybe have a cry, and then curl up on the sofa with my dog, comfort food with cuppa or gin!

I think my version of a tough day and yours are probably somewhat different, C. I honestly don't know how I'd cope with the sorts of things you might have to. I usually have a good rant to a willing listener and then just veg out. Sometimes I'll go to the gym or for a push.

I hope you’re okay OP!

If I’ve had a tough day I prefer not to talk to anyone and take some time to just be alone. I’ll go for a shower and jump into bed to watch some tv or if it’s been particularly tough I’ll probably be exhausted so I’ll just go to bed.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. I think there are common themes emerging of distraction, alcohol, loved ones and some sort of cathartic cleansing!

I hope you are all doing well too.
