Has anyone inadvertantly revealed their identity on Fab?

Whether it be via exchanging pictures or someone looking over your shoulder?

If so, how did it feel and play out for you?

My wife and I were in a hotel foyer on fab once only to receive a message describing us!

(Fortunately he was a gent if you're reading

Not that I know off. I've been scrolling on the bus before though before I've realised where I am.

Manchester (she/her)

I was sending emails to someone via my Fab account and he accidentally sent me an email from his business address, immediately telling me more than I needed to know.

(I responded by telling him the same details about me - like, your information is safe with me, and to prove it here's mine)

It's a good job you were reassuring. I can imagine that induced some panic!

I don't email people unless I trust them quite a bit. And yes, he was not best pleased he'd done that!

No, but someone revealed themselves to me as one of my ex-neighbours. It was quite a shock when she posted face pics and I recognised her.

We always had a frisson of sexual tension so I contacted her and it transpired she hadn’t meant to put the face pics up!

I let her control the situation and she was happy to stay in touch. We met and it was lots of fun!

I've found people on other social media when they've shared photos with personal information like their work uniform or a photo from FB. Told someone the other day to be careful, could see all his family and past relationships! Could cause all sorts of issues if someone chose to expose him.

That's exactly why I do give my first name. It's not like it's Florence Wilhelmina or something

Milton keynes

I havent done anything like that but I have posted a pic of my face in the public section by mistake. Did wonder why it received more fabs than it would normally received until I realised the blunder I've done. I know some people may not see that as a big issue but can't be too careful these days really

Yeah.

I left some business cards in the dash of my car, picked up my meet for the evening and stopped to get a Costa shortly after on the way to the hotel.

So she knew my full name, non Fab mobile number and who I worked for.

How did it work out?

Well. I had to marry her obviously.

A

No but I have two situations of recognising or being recognised.

A) I was at a social on Friday when one of the bar staff recognised me from some talk style YouTube stuff that I occasionally do. He didn’t know who I was with so it could have been worse.

B) My mates ex is a quite distinctive and has a profile on here. We were chatting in the pub one evening and I made a comment about her being harmless and innocent. She let me know that she was harmless, but certainly not innocent. At which point i made a ‘fab’ joke/pun we both laughed m and told her I’d message her when I got home to keep things fair. So now she knows and we speak on here occasionally and in the pub when we see each other

I recognise someone from my local village. Obviously, I'd never approach unless we had some prior contact.

We knew of each other, and have many mutuals, which is how we ended up talking that evening.

I’ve had to save her a few times on nights out from weirdos who recognise her
