Dundee Wolves Killed

Chelmsford

Captive wolves in a place called Dundee which is famous for its fruitcake have all been euthanasised by their owners. Euthanasia is a method of killing the wolves. Apparently the alpha male wolf had to be killed after routine surgery caused suffering. The other wolves in the pack then started displaying odd behaviours. So odd that the owners decided to put them all down according to reports and the owners are very sad about this. What the hell is going on here guys. Why did the other animals act this way.

Wolves have an incredible pack relationship and can become difficult if there is no alpha to lead the pack. In the wild a replacement would naturally rise through the ranks but captive animals won't have this whilst still displaying wild behaviour

We need to stop using the term Alpha when describing wolves.

The man responsible for coining the term has done more research and discovered that the alphas are the parents of the pack.

The wolves that behaved like dicks he observed were in captivity.

Cats have alphas too..

There is always a head lion in charge of the pack and when he gets old a younger lion drives him away. It's a bit like being over 60 on fab

The same thing happened in 2006 at the Highland Wildlife Park.

Very sad, but I was reading yesterday that with the change in behaviour, the wolves would end up killing each other. I doubt it was a decision that the park made lightly.

Well Tom hopes that they did not die in vain and they find a use for the pelts... Tom suspects that this was a battle for supremacy between the remaining wolves.

Think of it like a battle to lead the Conservative party after Boris left but with more teeth and fur flying. Wolves can be vicious buggers at times.

Just this. They euthanised all the females previously. And theres already specualtion about them bringing in new babies ready for visitors this summer. I really hope not after this!

Not true, loins can be have 2 or more male lions in charge of the pride. They are usually brothers and rely on each other to defend the pride against other male lions and other dangers.

They also share the females, which the leaders of other social animals wolves, chimpanzees etc don't.

In Scotland anything is possible. It's hilly and mountainous and very rugged even in the glens which is a Gaelic word for valley.

Tom has been told many times that he would make a fantastic school teacher.. He has a natural gift of informing others.. He would of made headmaster and would model himself on Jimmy Edwards for those with long memories..
