Has anyone experienced anything close to polyamory or a throuple? We almost did but was a bit of a disaster. When it was good it was great.

Too far. We thought we were in love. I’m way too naive and trusting lol

It's something we are very much interested in but very difficult to find the right person, and the trust needed is a difficult proposition that most will only fail.

Thought about the thruple but it's hard enough to find a regular and commited fwb let alone a thruple.

We can always live in hope on either case lol x x

I definitely have enough love to share. Not in a thruple but I think it would be rare to find a lover that your lover loves!

Isn't the biggest issue whether you have enough time to share?

Be a good way to make the mortgage affordable..

...3 incomes rather than 1 or 2

I wonder what the bank would say when it came to loan assesment...

Yes, lived in a poly triad (hate the word throuple) for 5 years, and when one partner died, the remaining 2 of us stayed together for 4 years. We lived together, went on holiday together, spent Christmas together. With our families. Did the big life events together.

Of course, time is the most scarce commodity we have. That's a challenge in any relationship due to conflicts of work, family, exercise, friends, romantic partner/s, hobbies etc

Yes but it got a little out of hand.

Husband became mostly impotent and wife started to demean him a lot and I feel get a bit to attached to me .

Then she found God

So although fun and great for a while, it didn't turn out for the best.

Still friendly though

We just started what i suppose would be considered poly. Been in the lifestyle for 2 years and one my wifes friends cane over and me and her hit it off. We both have strong feelings for eachother and everyone is open and honest with eachother. So far going really great

Burnleyish (She/They)

So I've been poly for years. I've been in triads (I also am not keen on throuple as a term).

Currently I have my husband and my boyfriend.

As metamours my boyfriend and husband get on like a house on fire, just as friends nothing more (one is asexual the other cishet)

I have known one of my metamours for 5 or so years. We have always got on well... Then myself, my boyfriend and his girlfriend all went on a night out together...

I think I might now have found myself in a non nesting triad with my boyfriend and his girlfriend... We had a lot of fun... More fun is being planned.

We need to sit down and do the conversation thing but with distance and having to integrate into an existing polycule it's going to take some work.

And apparently more shared locations and Google calendars and lists of preferences and allergies.

Honestly the admin and paperwork involved with poly is the hardest bit. (related when we find some time we are totally developing an app aimed for the lifemin tasks surrounding poly!)

* to save you googling...

Noun - Metamour (plural metamours)

In a polyamorous relationship, one's partner's partner, with whom one is not directly involved. (So I'm married to Ted and dating John... John and Ted are metamours)

Noun polycule (plural polycules)

All of the people linked through their relationships, usually romantic and/or sexual, to one or more members of a polyamorous group.

I have had several poly relationships but the triplet thing would never be for me. Triangles , squares, even hexagons can work if everyone is secure , but a permanent 3 is even worse than a regular mono relationship in my view

Interesting x I’m tempted to agree. Too many variables and opportunities for blow ups x
