Yes it's painful! A few weeks to recover, then just be careful with fishnet/lace dresses. Good luck

Yes it hurts. It's like a toddler has bitten your nipples and you know it's about to happen.

I'm 12 months down the line and mine are still healing but it's probably because they get knocked around a bit as I don't like wearing bras/bralettes.

It's really varied - you can't predict it. Look at how different the responses are.

So, mine didn't hurt in the slightest. I thought he was tightening the clamps and didn't realise it was already done. Cue laughter from him.

Healing time, it's not been too bad - a few months? I'm getting better at changing the piercing.

Healing time varies wildly - my first one was still painful/gross for about a year before I gave up and took it out. Second one took 2 years to heal, then had the first one done again and it took about another year to stop getting sore/gross.

I've had mine about 15 years now and they're all good, but it can take a really long time to heal.

Also exquisitely painful having it done - and this coming from someone who is a bit or a masochist with a very high pain threshold.

Really painful and took a long time to heal, highly recommended.

My left one was sore. Right one wasn't. Both done at same time about thirty years ago.

Really depends on your pain threshold. Some people can take more pain than others.

Just an oddball question - do you think the pain would vary before or after you've had children and/or breastfed?

"Just an oddball question - do you think the pain would vary before or after you've had children and/or breastfed? "

The pain will vary anyway, it has nothing to do with breast feeding and everything to do with the nerve endings in your nipples.

Put it this way, whether you're male or female breast fed or not, it WILL hurt. How painful is very much a moot point and you won't get a true answer from anyone because it's down to the individual

I breastfed had cracked nipple's, mastitis and it was know here near as bad as the piercings

I breastfed for 4 years, had about a year break then had them pierced. My nipples weren't ever sensitive (due to breastfeeding) but they did bloody hurt getting pierced. I had flashbacks to my toddlers biting me and that's all I could describe the pain as - although it's over fast.

If I had just the one done no way I would have gone back for the second.

Hurt when needle went through, I healed fairly quickly and didn't have any bother with pain. Like any piercing just keep it clean and don't play too much with it, lol. Nipple play isn't quite as good for me now as it used to be though.

It’s not that bad. I wear mostly sports bras anyway, if I even wear one at all. It’s been fine. Just wash with water from the shower and be careful when drying.

The worst part is the jewellery going in, but that’s the same for every piercing I’ve ever had

I found the worst part was getting your nipple ring ripped out by a shower door handle. Yowchy!

Yup varied on the healing times , had mine about 30 years now . Took about 2 to 3 years to heal fully .. It wasent so popular back then so there was nothing to really compare it too .

Mine were done by one of the piercing worlds legends the now deceased Mr Sebastian , one of the important things he told me was to keep straight bars in for the first few years which I did ... Years later when I had them stretched a year later by another reputable piercer in soho London he asked who had done them because they were so straight and symmetrical .. I told him Mr Sebastian had said to keep the straight bars in and he agreed that was important..

I love my piercings , one of the best things I’ve ever done ...

That sounds as though it would have been unspeakably painful!!! I’m caressing my moobs now in sympathy.

General point - I’m guessing for anyone it would also depend on how sensitive your nips usually are? Some women I know don’t really react to nipple nibbles, whereas some are on the ceiling (not the nipples, the women)

Great to have done and we both have them.

Keep them clean at all costs and avoid snagging with towels etc.

had mine since 2006.

Becky had hers done in 2018.

Becky’s didn’t heal properly for a while and I encouraged (nagged) her to change for titanium.

Some piercers use budget jewellery that can react badly.

Didn’t find the piercing itself painful. Did have swelling for a few days after which was uncomfortable. Bra wise would say keep it simple no lace and avoid catching it. They take a long time to heal! Worth it though.

I had mine done yesterday and i thought it was quite a pleasurable pain. I'm a baby when it comes to needles and have super sensitive nipples so thought I'd chicken out after the first one but it was fine. Even after the first night I can sleep on my belly on them with virtually no pain. Wearing a bra is a tad irritating tho so I've just worn a lil thin crop top since

Had mine done a few weeks ago... I used numbing cream and didn't feel a single thing!! It's healing really well for now, still need to be careful through sexy time though, a little more gentle!

Nipples piercings are one of the longest piercings to heal. Generally speaking it’s an average of a year. Mine took longer but I love it!

A colleague of mine was going to get nipple piercings. We had a first aid training sessions and were told if a person needs a defibrillator, you have to rip the piercings out if they're metal, as it affects the current going to the heart. She decided not to after hearing that...

Not sure how you undo nipple piercings or if it'd take too long, but the first aid guy seemed a little extreme...

Haha! I did the same course and was told the exact same thing. I had mine done 2 days ago. My theory is if I need a defib my nipples are the last thing I'd be worried about x
