"Someone here messaged me an *amazing* photo of the northern lights first thing this morning. She’s in Canada though, right enough … We’ve got no chance of seeing them tonight. It’s clouded over and raining already." I keep seeing amazing pics on facebook of people in this little rubbish town of mine seeing them, never quite sure if its fake or you need a special camera. Boo for the rain, our country is pretty crap isnt it for sky watching.

"We were driving back to West Yorkshire 2 nights ago at 11.30pm…got home and went to bed. Woke up the next day with so many photos on my local Book of Face page showing the Northern Lights in full glory seen right over our little town… FML! K" Dammit, It might become a more regular thing, I dont know the science behind it, but more late night drives needed. It would be amazing to see.

"Should be as there is g1 storm in northern hemisphere. And yes you can see aurora through cloud cover if its particularly strong. You need to set your phone to night mode; take flash off and minimize other light. I take them on my phones, my cameras, etc. " Fabulous thankyou, will that be tonight aswell then.

" You can go to the NOAA website here: https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-30-minute-forecast And it shows you a model of the potential or ongoing forecast for aurora. Your best bet is to always start here to do your planning, and watch social media but the big one is always going to be solar flares. If theres lots of sun activity, we will get auroras.
