On news today sandringham palace is going to have major work carried out to help the royals even more. Taxpayers will be funding it agsin.

Fact that folk not as well have feel need to have use food banks or stay cold because of fuel costs sickens me.

Whether a fan of royals or not which i am not is unfair and shows contempt by royals and the government for less well of folk.

All in it together my arse.

But surely the money spent will come back into the wider economy in wages and materials helping sustain hard pushed business and keeping people in work….!.

Not sure how it will help wider economy yes i agree folk will have work my gripe is at times folk are told we are skint so the work can wait surely its not as if they is not room already.

The wider economy is served by working people being able to spend their wages on good and services which in turn provide wages to people who replicate this action etc… etc.. etc…

Also Tax is collected on these wages and services which all goes to perpetuate the wider economy ….

I live near there ... and alot of the time its open to the paying public to help cover costs and in the grounds of the house thay hold all sorts in the year... and alot for charities too hold things there.. when you live on the door step you see its not all for the Royal its for there public too .. and the woods around house familys go with dogs and horses and play things for the kids ,,, I for one think thay do alot for us and alot come here to uk to see them and the houses .

our food bank here .. people really put alot into helping others .. its for us all to help if we can our community and our salvasion army is fab really help loads out so i am willing to help my dad died oct and thats where everything end up and i was pleased.

Try watching some of the country house renovation programmes on TV and you'l lrealise just how quickly our large country mansions can fall into disrepair if they are not maintained.

Sandringham belongs to the crown, not the Queen, and it is passed to each successive monarch as somewhere for them to relax away from prying eyes when they are not 'working'.

I'm neither or Royalist (far from it) or particularly proud to be British (something I always see as an accident of birth as much as anything)

However, I do see the need to maintain Heritage buildings in this country and I'm fairly sure the costs will be offset by the extra tourism that the Royal Family bring to the country.

As Wishy says, these places can fall into horrible disrepair very quickly.

Re-generating growth in failing economies require a combination of external investment and the effective use of public money for internal projects which create work rather than wasting tax payers money subsidising and maintaining increasing debts.

Only by stimulating growth and investment can we create the jobs that will provide sufficient streams of tax revenue to effectively sustain the needs of our nation’s welfare budget…

Like it or lump it …. Our royal family is a UK resource which generates more revenue for UK plc than it costs us to maintain them,,,,,,,

So as a country we get a dividend on every penny spent providing the royal budget..

Win – win situation… init.. eh!
