Just a little rant, let me get it out lol

I'm the type of person that if you say give me ten min I'll get back to you.... Then do it, don't say it if you know you can't

So I'm trying not to be fuckin fuming but

I had a home eye test, my first one, it was ok not great, the people were nice but a bit slapdash. I chose my glasses. (not the ones I wanted but that's another story) they said upto five weeks, that's fine, if it happens before then they look better i get that. My glasses came two Fridays ago. I expected the adjustment period as they are stronger. i gave them a week but i cant see, there's a distortion. I phoned and explained last Fri. They told me a person would come today to look and examine. They told me that person will phone before they arrive and tell me they are on their way so i know, knowing my issue this is the best way for me.

I phoned just now, there's no person coming. There's no notes on my previous call. There's no one in the area today so the next time is next Friday that someone's in the area. I booked it and told them to contact me if it changes. So i got myself geared up for a person coming into my personal space and they didn't even book it in so got myself worked up for fuck all!!!!!! I know it sounds pedantic but i take everything in literal, tell me a date and time i can prepare. Give me details of a building so i can prepare. Anyways i just can't be the only one like it can I??

So the concensus is no substitute for going into the shop oh and pay cash because if you don't thats another step closer to never being able to use cash again

Agree on there's no substitute, it's better to go into an opticians (but i cant do that)

I've done an online form.There's no branch connected with home eye tests on the paperwork unfortunately

We had issues with our local Specsavers and they have no interest in responding in a positive manor, so we switched to Vision Express.

Their eye test was far superior but their spec frames turned out to be of very poor quality and grumbles to the branch went unheeded.

So I emailed their head office and lo and behold they were falling over temselves to be helpful - very impressive - as are the new remade specs using different but similar frames.

It took just 8 days to have the new specs and lenses made, delivered to the store and fitted to me and we will, of course, go there again - unlke Specsavers who no doubt won't give a toss to know that they have lost our custom forever.

Pay by cash always....... In fact insist on it as a matter of course, paying by card is lazy and paying using your phone even lazier, technology is good for somethings but for payment should be outlawed before its too late........ Once cash is gone its gone

I only let people in if I've made the appointment and i know who is coming, with i d, I can prepare that way. I know it can't always be done but a phonecall ahead to allow me this time at least. I'm annoyed though at being told it's today and not recorded down

You gain card protection on purchases as the credit card is a contract with the supplier.

The other reason not to pay in cash is because cash can be laundered and it's a prime mechanism for laundering. It "enables" a fair bit of suspicious financial irregularities. Anyone demanding cash for payments gets an automatic side-eye and raised eyebrow. The harder they demand it, the more suspicious it becomes, warranting deeper investigation.

I totally agree - it makes sense.

That said, cash has it's place for some transactions where using a card is impractical - private secondhand purchases, for example, or small traders that do not have card facilities, some market stall holders, for example.

I seriously don't get people like you, do you actually want to lose cash because sure as damnit you will, I've never in my life come across fake money or for that matter anyone demanding cash and its creeping closer and closer i for one do not want to give a card for a transaction not every transaction anyway and i shall make a point of mentioning it at every opportunity

Well this went a different way!

I don't have cash. I won't go and withdraw it when I do my mind and body crippling walk as I don't want it on me. I used to withdraw on payday and use that til it run out and then I'd go without. But now i use card for everything.

Now back to my glasses!!!!! I'll be phoning the day before and the morning of to make sure they come. Someone wrote appointments should be made when convenient to the customer and i completely agree

Call them back and ask for the email of the hub that covers your area and contact them directly with a complaint (they should have a base one and a franchise director one)
