My thoughts go out to those affected in Oz. Poor sod losing their homes and livelihoods. Seeing that wall of flames must be terrifying.

My parents live in Portugal, and went through a similar experience in August last year - it's a truly terrifying, but awesome, experience to go through.....

The power of the fires is phenomenal, and the heat is retained in the ground for days, meaning the fires can re start in areas where it was thought were clear

The firefighters are incredibly brave and dedicated, working 24/7 in extremely difficult situations.

My heart goes out to those living through this

Back in 79 2 mates and myself were driving in southern NSW when we were surrounded by a bushfire after the winds changed direction thank god the fire fighters managed to get us out as it was bloody terrifying.Friends lost their houses in the Ash Wednesday fires in 1983,family in Perth had a lucky escape in 2011 and now everyone is complaining its to hot so enjoy this wet warm weather at the moment lol

As a big fan of bush, I'm saddened by this.

Seriously though, hope there's no casualties.
