Sat watching C4, and granted not been the best of days/evenings but seriously wondering what on earth am I doing with my life. And yes I did say I was going to do all sorts when I turned 30 and now fast approaching 40 (yes I know that's not middle age but still a milestone)

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I didn't watch it.

Turning 40 was pretty much like being 35 except I bought myself a new car as a present. 42 was when life really started to get better.

It's a milestone but so is every birthday.

Mr CF3 will be 50 later in the year and is not looking forward to it at all! Is it a sign of middle age that rather than attending a swinging club to celebrate it we are planning a visit to Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck Restaurant?

Don't be despondent about what you haven't yet done. Life isn't a destination, it's a journey.

You have just taken the first step on your journey .... You realised that you want more ..... Now write yourself a bucket list and go and get started on it.

I did the same thing at 40 and life really does get better once you take control.

Don't wait ..... Act

Have fun

I passed my driving test at the age of 40. In my 40s I; drove across Europe, drove along the coast of Queensland solo, went whale watching, drove to Poland in a Smartcar, got into internet meeting.

Now I have turned 50 I have just refurbished a house, and plan on returning to Oz at some point to swim with Great Whites.

As long as you are fit and healthy there is no reason why you can't do all sorts of things.

My ethos is that I intend to get to 70 and look back maybe regretting a few things I had done - but never to regret something I hadn't done.

Thanks everyone, think it was 'one of those days' rather than being related to my birthday. Just been having a few too many of them recently. X
