Whether you like like them or not or indeed anything else, does not mean it should be included in the traditional full English. Some people, especially on holidays, add chips. Each to their own but when I go to order a full English, which is rare, I want the traditional one, not whatever else anyone thinks should be included.

Has anyone tried puff balls?Ooeer mrs

Its an old wartime recipe to fill you up

Self raising flour salt and pepper to taste, add water so it makes a dryish dough

Fry in the bacon fat

Delish, hash browns..pah

Let me know if you try it

Oil in a frying pan will do for the “ grillers” amongst us

Hash browns, tinned tomatoes, white pudding, fruit slice, fried bread, mushrooms... get in the bin!

Tattie scone, fried or grilled tomatoes, black pudding, fried eggs, lorne sausages, bacon... get on my plate then in my belly!

Beans optional.

Far too many things are added to 'traditional English breakfasts' which shouldn't be there. The correct components are:

Dry-cured back bacon;

Fried egg;

Fried bread;

Fried potatoes;

Sausage (proper, fat, pork - ooer!);

Black pudding;

Brown sauce (NOT ketchup).

People adding beans, tomatoes, etc - it's not meant to be a salad! It's supposed to be an aortic aneurysm in edible form, to be taken, at the most, monthly.

A full English for me is:

Egg, bacon, black pudding (well done), mushrooms, hash browns, toast and s tomato.

I don't do beans as they tend to be a bit messy and end up slopping on my tits.

Now I’m a carb loving, potato fiend…. But potatoes do not belong on a breakfast. Be they fried, rostied, sautéed, hashed or otherwise. The addition of potatoes turn it into a brunch for me.

Mushrooms do belong.

Well I do love anything potato and if it's fried it can go with a fry up but you probably need to give it a slightly different name if there's a registered make-up for what is specifically considered an English Breakfast.
