So it's 11pm and people are walking down the hallways slamming doors and having full blown conversations volume on 90.

So fabbers... do you care about the noise you make when you stay at a hotel? Or do you not give a fuck because why should you give a shit about strangers?

Be honest. I won't judge you. Yes I will. I'm slightly irritated yes.

Oh, I'm VERY conscious of not making too much noise. I shush my kids in the corridors and tell them not to let doors slam shut. I really don't like people who think it's okay to shout and bawl in the corridors etc late at night/early morning

If they start, call reception to complain. I've got noisy fuckers kicked out of a hotel in the past.

Their sex noises were ridiculously loud and other people also complained.

I expect and give respect to others, who are somewhat exposed whilst in their bedrooms in hotels. They may need rest and sleep, perhaps before/after flights and long journeys, before interviews, meetings etc.

Room doors offer little sound insulation and guests don't have recourse to home comforts and options to adjust things.

Walls and ceilings often give little relief, so people could be bombarded from multiple directions. Some health conditions also mean that people are heavily impacted by sensory overload.

Of course I am very considerate to other guests. Always.

Omg. My pet hate, people who are blooming loud in the corridors... gggrrrr or the ones that let the door slam and are constantly in and out.

Although I'm very considerate in the hallways and shared areas, Master always has to remind me to cover my mouth or hide my face in the pillow as I have realised he males me very vocal. Haha

In a dayuse room people won't be sleeping so it's game on and pray for the housekeepers.

Overnight though it'd be awful to put up with in reverse so I'd never make a ruckus past a reasonable hour.

I’m always conscious of the noise and try to be considerate of others when walking through hallways etc. if I’m there to have sex I don’t scream at the top of my lungs anyway so I don’t think I’d cause too much of an issue.

It's common curtsey to try and not be mega noisy. Particularly in the corridors where doors tend to be less sound proof than walls. You have no idea who is in the rooms. Have they got work in the morning? Have they got kids with them? Is it their nans funeral the next day?

I am strongly of the opinion that a person's right to have fun isn't more important than someone's else's right to have a peace and quiet.

I used to manage a hotel and live in (within the hotel, not separate), I can honestly say if it's an old hotel and on the rare occasion we stay in one, I stay as quiet as possible as speaking from experience, you can hear everything lol.

Sorry, but for me this is the absolute worst thing. People who are being noisy are highly unlikely to respond to being shouted at to shut up. All you’ve done is made a bad situation worse. For those on the periphery, they might only actually hear you shouting, not the original miscreants.

But I quite like to listen to other people having sex, unless it’s just a banging headboard.

We're as quiet as we can be. Having stayed in numerous hotels over the years and experienced hugely inconsiderate behaviour from other guests we know how annoying it can be.

If someone is persistently noisy we ring reception and ask them to deal with it. They either ring the room or move us if it's feasible.

Among the most annoying are the early risers who chat loudly in the corridor on the way to breakfast, the middle of the night toilet flushers and the overhead furniture movers. Seriously, what are these people doing dragging furniture around at midnight?

Yes. I completely agree. And even when I've been drinking and staying in hotels, I always feel very cautious about making noise and keep it to reasonable levels when I'm having sex. I'm not that noisy anyway, but can't think of anything worse than putting that onto a bunch of strangers going through god knows what.

It's been interesting to read the responses anyway. And luckily for me, nobody had noisy sex last night to add to my annoyance. But people were still occasionally slamming doors and shouting at one in the morning. *shakes head*
