You've always wanted to ask but feared the answer?

Or has Wikipedia and urban dictionary removed that fear?

I refuse to ask it as it would ruin the illustration that is Wonko

I often wonder if people love me the way I love them. But I can't ask that of most people without it causing massive misunderstanding.

But self love first surely is the key

Oh of course. But I'm fine on that front. I love me

I don't mean it in a needy do I give more than them way. Nor just for lovers. Just a matter of interest because everyone expresses these things differently and my own brand of affection is easily misinterpreted.

Oh PTTF. Yes. This? I understand this completely.

There was an animated film on epistemology. And I think the voice actor for the particular scene I'm thinking of is Ewan McGregor.

In it the concept of love is discussed - how one person can say they love x but it's not always a mirror perfect image of what another person imagines when hearing it.

When I ask people how they feel about something, I'm seeking to bridge that gap between our different understandings, our experiences, our biases.

So this is a question I've thought of asking before but I'm not sure how well it's received. It's different to asking why, not seeking affirmation.

Problem is the human brain can't fully comprehend the meaning of love without it being reconstructed to fill an alterior motive...if you said "I love chocolate" you wouldn't expect the chocolate to immediately feel intent emotions to you, and yes I know you can say it's an inanimate object, but your behaviour hasn't changed because you've made a statement which isn't viewed as desire....only humans misread that!

I am so happy that it made some kind of sense to someone

I'm basking in postcoital glow and my mind is less adept at translating the chaos into words in this state. Reading it back reminds me exactly why I don't ask the question.

See. This is exactly why I can't ask the question.

I don't say I love something because I need it to reciprocate or react. When I express adoration it's simply because I feel it.

That weird association with it being used to manipulate and control is also exactly why I absolutely hate hearing those words.

Enjoy the postcoital glow, it's a wonderful feeling. This is as much of a reminder for me as it is for you - maybe we can leave the chaos be without trying to give structure to it. Some questions we don't need to ask. Even if that urge is there. I love clarity but I'm rather enjoying a slightly translucent approach to life currently. Hope you were deprived of oxygen fellow worshipper.

Oh I very much am, just fighting the urge to edge myself into a coma dreaming about tomorrow since I'm an insatiable whore

I usually do revel in the chaos. It's not a question that intrudes often, just when the OP posted it was the only thing I could think of that I wouldn't simply ask.

I have had a lovely evening of worship in my favourite way, thank you
