"This is mainly for those who have lost/gained weight. Recently I've noticed a marked difference in attention I'm receiving - in real life and away from Fab. I've also lost a fair bit of weight in the past four months. So my questions - when you've lost/gained weight have you noticed a difference? Do you think it's down to increased confidence/comfort in who you are? Or a difference in libido? In my head I still see myself as being very obese and then I get odd moments like being able to buy normal sized clothing. It's a weird feeling. Good. But weird." Well done on the weight loss, it's not easy but worth it I'm currently a size 6, but have been as big as 24. I get so much more attention everywhere (good & bad!) I did it primarily for my health, for me. I ignore most of the attention I get now because I'm absolutely the same person I always have been. It has to be for you that you work on yourself because you'll have people telling you look ill, you look great, you're too thin etc etc. So many opposing views so it's essential you keep in mind why you're doing it. My libido's the same - high overall

"I’m two stone heavier than I’d like to be. But if I was two stone lighter I’d look ill. Trying to shake off 40+ years of social conditioning that I ‘have’ to be as thin as possible is very difficult. That said, I’m honest upfront that I’m curvy and because people then know what to expect I feel confident meeting. I can fill a FF bra and have a sizeable arse and everything is in proportion. I’ve had nasty comments in the past and online but I’d get them regardless of my weight. Certain clothes make me look bigger or smaller and I definitely don’t go without food these days just to try and be thinner. Attitude trumps weight imo, if you’ve got confidence about whatever size you are then you’re winning " Yep, I definitely think attitude/confidence really does carry a lot of weight. I'm coming back to this a bit late as I've been busy. I think people will, if they want to, always find something dickish to say about your appearance. Size might make it easier for them to but it shouldn't influence how you feel about yourself.

"My weight varies a fair amount. I've been happily chilling at the lower end of my usual range for a while but when I'm desperately unhappy I do gain weight fast. I do get more attention when I'm slimmer, but I really do believe that it has more to do with my happiness and confidence levels. When I'm fat it's because I'm unhappy, not the other way around." Yes, I think happiness makes such a difference in how we come across to others - when you're happier regardless of size, people are more likely to want to interact with you.

I agree with that 100%… works both ways too. A lot of people think I should be full of confidence on here but when you have a set back either way health/weight wise it’s the confidence in yourself that really takes the knock! If u love yourself it shows and that’s the sexiest thing there is "

"I got much more compliments and felt sexier when I was bigger / heavier, like 34 waist 46 chest I used to look at slimmer guys like runners 30/32 waist and think how unsexy they were and now I’m slowly becoming one. I’m think am gonna go back to heavy lifts " Slim can be sexy

"I lost a lot of weight a couple of years back, it was amazing for how I felt but it drew so much attention it overwhelmed me, I've put most of it back on and in some ways feel more relaxed? I'd love to be slimmer don't get me wrong for health in the future mainly but for how ill trudge along as i am and see how I feel x but yeah it was so good going into ships knowing I could pretty much pick anything up x now I have to be more selective x " Having that choice is fantastic isn't it? I've not been able to shop standard size ranges of clothing before, not in my adult life anyway. I can understand feeling more relaxed, it's kind of a bit overwhelming at times if that makes sense? I've never really struggled to get attention when wanted but it's mainly based on mind rather physicality and I'm comfortable with that. It's different when it's not.

I hit 60 this July and made a challenge to be as fit as possible. I have cut out the fast food, exercised in the gym weights, running, and swimming, walking 10,000 steps per day since November last year. I do feel a lot better in myself, as to attention on here there is no change. Not that I expected it to.
