Did they boycott the proceedings or did they go over, take advantage of the hospitality which was bought at the cost of many lives in the construction of the venues, ignore the human rights issues and fail to stand up to be counted?

“There is no huge influx. We take far fewer refugees than other major European countries . This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to used by Germany in the 30’s. And I am the one out of order”

I mean the chairman who guaranteed a loan for Johnson and didn't declare it and is a tory donor is now massively compromised given there is a letter responding to a complaint about Andrew Nell's impartiality in circulation explaining that it was a private tweet and therefore okay and lots of Sugar's tweets are resurfacing that are very biased

You can’t compare this situation to that of 30s Germany or the language , it’s not the same.

And anyways as said earlier he showed his true colours with the World Cup. Happy to take the coin and head over despite the atrocious human rights record.

1930s germany was before the war. before the nazis existed. they where brown shirts and the language was not so antisemitic at the time. more nationalistic.

Have always thought he was a bit of a knob to be honest, like a lot of people who build an echo chamber around themselves on Twitter.

However, in this case, I see the big question being one of contract. If his contract says he can’t tweet stuff like he has done then there have to be consequences. If not then he is at liberty to continue to be a knob, albeit a knob paid £1.4M of public money…

"The ignorant will always believe whatever they read on social media, he never mentioned the word "Nazi" in his tweet, it was actually a measured tweet and very much true."

No, he didn't mention the word - but I did hear the terms "invasion", "100 million" and "1 billion", "wanting to come here".

Inflammatory, deliberate wording to induce fear, very similar to the Brexit rhetoric as to why "we needed to get out of Europe".

He's obviously pissed a number of Conservative MPs off, as well as Right Wing media who are now trying to pull rank with the BBC Chairman that chummy Boris gave the job as a thank-you for a dodgy £800m loan.

I have never been keen on Lineker and if government had kept its mouths shut, I'd probably be completely unaware of his Tweet.

However, I do now have respect of someone willing to stand up for what he (and others) believe is right, especially against external pressure to remove him.

BBC Chairman is currently undergoing two significant government investigations into his lies and deceit to get his job - Suspended? NO.

Gary Lineker forced to Step-down until BBC determine code of conduct and a future gagging order placed on him.

Non biased, fair and impartial?

What happens to other presenters or documentaries government take exception to. Like in the past and recently, threaten the BBCs funding. Nadine Vanessa Dorries and others have wanted to disembowel the BBC over treatment of Boris other Conservative law breaking - are they trying to take control of our State Media for political gains?

Very 30's behaviour from government as well as the language it is using now and 2016..

Nadine Vanessa Dorries and others have wanted to disembowel the BBC over treatment of Boris other Conservative law breaking - are they trying to take control of our State Media for political gains?

Very 30's behaviour from government as well as the language it is using now and 2016.."

That's all very well, but getting back to the underlying issue, how does our country prevent illegal people smuggling and uncontrolled violation or our borders? This has been going-on now for decades and we've had to sit gormlessly watching illegal migrants wash up on our beaches day after day. Moreover, the fiasco is costing the taxpayer a fortune at a time we have other pressing needs.

Not a massive fan of Gary, but a big fan of match of the day. Great the team supported him and took a stand. BBC in a bit of a pickle here I think.

Walkers aren’t that good. The only flavour worth having is ready salted from their range. The crisps are thin, they do get the salt content right though. Great for a hangover.

Pipers salted are the best. I’ve done extensive research

You lot wanted to what MOTD looks like with no host, pundits or commentators… well we now have our answer

20 minutes tonight………

Be careful what you wish for

Nobody really cares "

Hopefully, it dissappears from our screens completely along with all other coverage of the most mundane sport out there.

Strangely, I never watch MOTD so I don't need to pick up the little things with the buttons on.

I think you would have to live on another planet to not know who GL is though.

I have no clue what he has done as been in hospital since Thursday, but knowing the BBC, he probably passed comment that offended our snowflakes.

I wondered why I was getting so many Wattsapp memes though with him as the main source??

First Marcus Rashford taking on Johnson and winning, and now the Tories and their satraps in the BBC taking on Gary Lineker and losing. And this in the Gareth Southgate era, in which the England team has emerged as a beacon of decency and anti-racist conscientiousness.
