Does anyone know a good cure for swollen tonsils.. .. Cant eat, drink or talk.. .. Going docs tomorrow.. Had to ibeprofen.. Or how ever you spell it.

Gargle with salt water - it's an old remedy that works even if it doesn't taste nice. I think it was mentioned on another thread. Hope it gets better soon x

Luckily im over the sore throat stage because it was agnony, honestly it was like i was swallowing razor blades. It got so bad id stopped drinking just so i didnt have to swallow. Then the headache kicked in and just went in the other direction where i was constantly drinking to try and adjust to the pain and it eased away. I stuck with ice cold drinks but some people prefer the warmth

There is a throat spray you can buy to numb the throat, i think its called Chloroseptic, ( also helps stop the gagging reflex lol )

Feels like im deep throating barbed wire with vigar and salt on it .. Its horrible..

TCP, dark brown bottle, green label, put it on bites and stings, sure to have some in the house, probably 4 years out of date. Its an antiseptic liquid, just dont swallow it!!!

You can take paracetemol as well as ibruprofen as they are different types of painkillers .... a good way to make them most effective is to take paracetemol nd then 3 hours later take ibroprofen then 3 hours later paracetemol ... it helps keep on top of the pain a bit better .... obviously dont take more than the maximum amount allowed in each 24 hours. There is also a numbing spray which is farly helpful too, i can't remember what its called though but a pharmasist will be able to help you.
