I got into a heated debate a few days ago about fighting (womens bitch fights)

someone called an aqquantance a fat cow (think was the cunt word) over christnas and new year peroid and ended up being a silly bitch fight hair pulled and other friends joining in!

I have saw friends killed and scarred for life so fighting makes me feel uneasy in bars and clubs. I wasnt there btw

2 wrongs dont make a right and me personslly I would have walked away, but now I dont want nothing to do with her

question:do you condone fighting if its a validreason or do u think its not needed?

I think fighting like that is a waste of energy

Put it to good use elsewhere, and yes I'd give them all a very wide berth in future

Mostly alcohol-related too. The demon drink has a lot to answer for - but then people think they can drink more than they can handle, to the point where they are no longer in control or able to rationalise

If there is a valid reason for an action then the action is also valid by default... the question is what would make it valid.

I can't see a valid reason for two people to use violence over name calling. There's not much that I could see a valid reason for which violence would be acceptable.

I would never start a fight though and most people that know me know not to try.

Fighting is only ever justified in self defense or when protecting one's children or family and only as a very last resource when there is no other option.

I dislike violence, name calling, nullying in any shape or form and would rather walk away from it!

I never condone violence in any circumstance (and now I don't mean soldiers etc, just general public).

I want nothing to do with it, or people who think it is the way to earn respect or that it is acceptable.

The better person be it male or female walks away every time imo.

Depends on the reason. I've never started a fight but I've got into quite a few because I'll stand my ground. It came with the territory. Where I grew up backing down was seen as a sign of weakness and you'd wind up getting a kicking anyway. I learnt at school that the best way to get people to leave you alone was to convince them you were a nutter. That required some examples of it tho.Last one was years ago tho.

I would fight the devil himself for my daughter, but not for any other reason, mothers instinct I guess. I abhor any type of violence, so it's a contradiction I know, but it's what we'd do for our kids. People of a certain age should know better.

I don't condone fighting and will always try to walk away, however I have been in fights before now...not for many years though.

Looking back now they were usually over something insignificant and tensions grew, but at the time I felt they were justified as I was defending myself/a friend/a family member. I never started them, and all the fights I have been in would be a result of someone hitting me...often whilst my back was turned...and where I grew up if you didn't fight back you became a target so I guess it almost became reflex to retaliate.

I still would never start a fight but I would defend myself/friends/family if I needed to...hopefully though not because of a bit of name calling!

I used to be a doorman (bouncer don't like that word) in Manchester in the mid 90s, seen people very badly hurt and even shot for the most trivial things, during the drug wars! Now I hate violence of any kind, if you cross the wrong person you could be signing your on death warrant. Just not worth it.

Even if I do FEEL violent and aggressive towards someone I never act on it. Walk away always. I would only ever fight if it was genuine self-defence and I was in danger of injury or further injury.

Adults fighting is just poor behaviour which we should have grown out of by the age of 15 or 16, or even younger.

I think that's a great view to take and I totally agree but there are times I would make a stand and fight for example if i had to defend my daughter or my home.

I've always been brought up to "fight smart" and never let a bully push someone else around.

I'd happily take the piss and humiliate a bully for picking on someone weaker or smaller than them - that usually works. But if I see someone smacking around a weaker or smaller person, I'll step in to help stop the bully.

I've once watched a bloke back hand a woman (pretty hard too) because she didn't want anything to do with him in a club - nobody stepped in so I stepped in and lamped him, picked him up and hauled him over to one of the bouncers with his arm up his back.

Doesn't always pay to be the good guy though - little shit tried to have me done for assault.

No, I disagree. SOME people will fight as they have little self-control. Many people walk away.

Many are too illiterate and socially inept to win an arguement by using words alone so they resort to bad mouthing someone to get a reaction which they can stand a chance of winning. In turning around and walking away you win and they lose because their words have no meaning and their sense of self importance is seriously damaged beause their words have no value. If it gets taken to the next level, then, they win because their words do have a value. Always best to walk away, it takes two to argue and neither one comes out on top.
