£5.. isn't a problem it's when it goes over..£5.05..they can fuck off..

I generally don't go out drinking much.. once a month if that..and a pint is generally over £4....so I'll generally give them a fiver and tell them to keep the change anyway

East London

Go drinking with interesting people and spend more time talking than drinking.

You can make two pints last all night.

its the same with all things,,, they are not making enough money ,, so they put the price up,, which causes more people to buy booze at a supermarket and drink at home, so price goes up again,,, if they want to get more customers they need to reduce price to get everyone to go back to the pubs,,,

It's about average for a pint In bath , unless you spoons which is flat but half the price , can see why pubs are dying

I'd pay it, at the right place and right company. But aim to drink slowly and buy less there. Before moving on.

I bought a pint, bottle of water and a red wine at the Apollo in Manchester the other week and thought my hearing had gone when he asked for £26

In my regular (it's not in my village it's in the nearest town so not my local) most pints are £2.50-£4.

And that's for cask ale and decent keg.

Or cut down. My local is £17.50 for a pint of IPA. From April I can’t expense them anymore so will be learning to survive on two a week instead of 6

Join Camra for £28.50 (single) and get £30 of vouchers for real ale that can be used in 'spoons and other pubs. Some pubs (3500 of them) give a discount on ales to camra members. Plus other discounts too.

Have you tried making your own with fizzy water and yeast which you can extract from most ladies underwear?

I was out in Dubai recently and unbeknown to me on the first day at the poolside of my hotel I ordered half pint of shandy, so refreshing in the hot weather.

The barman asked if I wanted another an hour later and I said “please”.

I paid the bill on leaving and it totalled for 2 halves of shandy…..£30..!!!

I was sober as a judge for the remaining week

Soft drinks are more expensive per ml than most ales I reckon. That said the price of pub overheads are stupidly high to.

In the early 80's l had a speakeasy in my basement with genuine bar ,pooltable, disco ,,seating ,don't drink n drive posters ,selling cheap home made beer ,wine and hooch.

I had a go at making home brew again last year ,it was ok ,nothing special for little effort, worked out at a pound a pint to make and bottle, add in all the stuff pubs and manufacturers have to supply ,put on the duty and l can see why beer is so expensive now, it used to be cheaper than bread.

If it not sold much at all then people's health might improve, but not sure about their mental state lol.
