"Callaloo. It's delicious and appetising. Comes from the same plant family as spinach. It tastes similar, but the taste is much stronger and more defined. If you like spinach but think it just tastes a bit too subtle and mild, you'll definitely like callaloo." The root of the plant (also known as 'Dashheen' and 'Taro') is also a valuable food source but despite the claimed family connection, I am not aware of anyone using the root of spinach. | |||
