"The Ick"

Met a friend who needed advise last night and during our long chat she mentioned "the ick" an extra ordinary amount of times about all manners of things, this left me with 2 questions.

1. When did "the ick" become such a big thing?

And more importantly 2. Does anyone have any icks over small or odd things that they just can't get over?

For those that don't know what"the ick" is I believe its when something about someone puts you off them in someway.

I get the ick quite easily and over what other people think are crazy things - although my daughters say I’m too picky, so it’s maybe just that!

Its just an "In" word atm.

I tend to get big Icks on my journey, and use avoidance as a way to stay away, from people who give me the Ick

I hadn't realised it annoyed me till last night, it got banned near the end of the conversation as it was pulling me out if helpful friend mode.

I get the ‘ick’ over all manner of small things. I did have to ask my teenager what it meant though when the word first appeared ha!

Seinfeld, the TV show, was full of icks. They'd go on a date, find something ridiculous wrong with that person, meh, she's a low talker etc. .

It just wasn't called that annoying word back then! I think we used to call them turn offs didn't we.

Many younger generation especially use it as essentially things that would put them off dating or sleeping with someome.

It could be things as little as the shoe brand they wear, or having bitten fingernails
