Carlisle usually

Meli 100% has the most sultry voice I've heard on here. If she doesn't win sexiest female voice it's a fucken fix.

One from the outfield for a girl who has Liverpool as a hard limit, but Kaitonel's voice had the best effect on me.

Absolutely not.

I joined this because it was a lovely thing that happened. It honestly felt like a community & quite a natural human thing. It pushed me out of a comfort zone, but in a nice safe environment. I get the feeling quite a few folk felt the same way.

Don’t turn it into a popularity contest.

I actually thought the thread showed a real openess for community and people were listening to people they haven't ever dealt with. I had fabs on mine from people I've never spoken to before, men and women, and I did the same back

And this sort of destroys that.

People are so self conscious about their voices as it is, not to get a mention on something like this would be worse than so many of the other popularity contests that pop up. It could be crippling to some self confidence to just be ignored after such a big leap they took yesterday.

If you really don't get it then wow...

When people choose to put their voice out there yesterday they didn't expect to have it be in competition. If they had known it wouldn't have been half as popular and only a handful would have bothered to put their voice out there. I couldn't give a fuck about being nominated or being ignored, even having my voice hated but quite clearly yesterday was a big deal for some people and this puts them (regardless of if they want to or not) in completion on something they are lacking confidence in, with zero approval of it from themselves, regardless of how light hearted it is. It's a big deal for them.

Face it, you alienated quite a few people. You fucked up with this one.

I think you're all being a bit harsh.

You can also say that some people are very insecure about how they look too, yet we still do who is on our hotlist thread (basically who is good enough) or who is the best looking on Fab etc best tits, best looking man etc.

It's lighthearted with no bad intentions, and doesn't mean anything at the end of the day as we all like different things. You're all shitting on Brucey like he's a massive cunt for having a bit of fun.

If you've got a problem with this I hope you've got one with the rest of the hotlist/name your fave user/private message users type of thread too because it's pretty much the same thing.

I honestly don't and will never see it. I don't think I fucked up.

Look, maybe I don't take myself or life as seriously as others and fine, but you don't have to get involved, look at the thread, or anything. Forums are about fun banter and discussion. This is a light hearted fun discussion, or was meant to be.

For me, and others who have messaged me, people commenting on threads being all like - you're the worst for this - that's judgemental attacking behaviour. Not a fun stupid poll.

Be boring if we all thought the same right?!

Yes and no. I don't think for a second that there are anything but the loveliest intentions behind this thread. But people joined in with the voice thread with no expectation of it becoming a competition. It was just fun to hear each other's voices. On the other sorts of threads you mention there is always an 'In' post.

I do kind of see your point. And I certainly haven’t shit on him or called/treated him like any kind of cunt.

But I do think this is slightly different. And the point that I’ve made is we recorded our voices especially for this thread, and lots of us openly said how uncomfortable and nervous we were. In general the pictures we have up that hotlists are based on are already there. We know they are and we accept that.

I’m not saying you’re wrong or I’m right. Just that in my personal opinion that This particular “competition “ felt off.

Which is fine, and I kind of see your point. But honestly, it was 4 categories. It wasn't super detailed, it was just abit of flirty praise for people. We heard many many voices and I think if anyone got upset they weren't mentioned, I mean, many others wouldn't have either.

Besides, it's a voice. Aren't we here to talk and potentially meet people? It's a voice people would hear at some point anyway?

Which is fine, and I kind of see your point. But honestly, it was 4 categories. It wasn't super detailed, it was just abit of flirty praise for people. We heard many many voices and I think if anyone got upset they weren't mentioned, I mean, many others wouldn't have either.

Besides, it's a voice. Aren't we here to talk and potentially meet people? It's a voice people would hear at some point anyway?

We shall agree to disagree then.

I’ll happily take on the mantle of fun sponge on this one.

For what it’s worth if you got shitty DMs from this - that’s not right & I’m sorry that that happened."

I didn't, all I got was DMS supporting me so don't you worry there

This all got really out of hand.

I’m nominating myself. 10/10. Patty and Selma Bouvier meets Kat Slater. An audio masterpiece

"Absolutely not.

I joined this because it was a lovely thing that happened. It honestly felt like a community & quite a natural human thing. It pushed me out of a comfort zone, but in a nice safe environment. I get the feeling quite a few folk felt the same way.

Don’t turn it into a popularity contest."

Yeah, pretty much this. It's not easy for people to put themselves out there so that last thing they probably want is to be compared to others.

Sorry. I think something has gone wrong here.

Just to be completely transparent, I’m not a cat. I like cats, yes but I’m not one.

But surely as soon as you post on a PUBLIC forum you are ‘putting yourself out there’ ?

I didn’t partake in this particular voice thread thingy so I don’t really have a dog in that particular race. But it seems to me like someone has taken that thread and derived a new one from it which people seem to be getting uptight about.

You are, but it doesn't mean you do it in a hope to compete with others. Everyone who contributed was complimentary and nice and by turning it into a competition, it made people choose which they're in their right to do but alienates those who don't get picked and may prevent them taking part in future threads. Is that what we want the forums to be?

Let's imagine there was a thread about sharing a pic of your cock. A lovely inclusive dick-sharing thread where everyone felt encouraged and willing to share because it was just that kind of loveliness. And then when everyone had shared , even those who were really insecure about their nobs, another thread was started. "Winning Dicks" Who has the biggest, the sexiest...

Can you see why people might get a bit naffed off?

They're separate threads beans, I'm not turning one into the other at all! And this isn't a competition, it's light hearted fun! Fuck me if people take this seriously I can't imagine how competing in a job interview or race feels to them!

Adding the word winning to a thread title immediately makes it a competition. And it's only a separate thread in that you created it separately but the subject is pretty much based on what came before. They're not separate entities.

I think that's the key thing here. On the other type threads you have to say you are 'in'.

In this thread, you wanted people to judge the voices that weren't initially uploaded as entries to a competition. And some people who did add their voices, don't want them to be judged.

It's pretty simple, whether you think it or can emphasise or not, they don't want to be part of a voice competition. They don't want their entries into the previous threads to be used or view as a competition. Irrespective of whether you think it's fun or not.

I do get this but also - it's only people commenting on it that will say I loved x, which is positive. I didn't have a who sounded like a C*nt category. It was light-hearted. It wasn't a competition. It was just meant to be abit of I loved their video. Obviously I wasnt actually gonna tally up who won what cause, I don't do work like that

I mean, that last sentence was obviously tongue in cheek but can understand if your sensitive soul didn't see it that way and I apologise. See, easy to say you can see the other person's side, isn't it?

Uurgh, I'm really torn about this thread and how it has panned out, and was ambivalent about posting on here.

I was also going to record my voice, perhaps take a leap of faith and•just•do•it! But I'm not so sure now...maybe I will...or not.

The forum "Challenges" (e.g. themed photo challenge, handbag challenge, fitness challenge, etc) are usually started by Mïdnïght and follow a pattern that we all 'know and love': you say you're "in" and do your "thing", it's all for fun and the thread ends happily with no expectations or follow up.

Unfortunately the thread got hijacked... twice. The stewardship changed and no longer kept to the original spirit of the challenge.

Apologies for the poor analogy: what's happened here is that people sheepishly submitted their humbling and self-conscious art-work to display at the local village hall. But instead someone decided to move the entire retinue into the Tate Gallery for unsolicited adulation, plaudits and prize giving.

And clearly that didn't sit well with a number of people. Understandably.

Ok, that was unnecessary. I don't mention my insecurities to curry favour with women from Fab, I did it because it felt good to get off my chest. I'm done with this thread now, have a good evening

Look, everyone has insecurities. Everyone wants to be desired and 'better'

This thread and the responses could have broken me! Could have made me feel awful about myself and insecure. Mr beans said I was making my points like a fool. I make a vague comment about getting the attention of women and I'm the bad guy again.

Honestly if you have a problem you may as well block me cause you're not my kind of people!

No, and as someone said earlier there's lots of popularity contest threads on here.

Next time Brucey let people know there will be winners and losers when you ask for something.

This is a very valid statement coming from you for once Brucey Big Balls.

Because, you can guarantee at some point soon , one of those "be nice,be kind, love everyone" threads will turn up and none of this bitterness will be included on that, but its acceptable on this one regardless of the subject and views clashing, and its all being aimed at one person.

Its a good job you are thick skinned and don't take negative comments badly.

The forum has lost two decent people in the worse way imaginable not all that long ago, and it really doesn't need to include a third!

So there is no reflection on how you have made others feel? Just how you have been made to feel.

Right you are then.

Manchester-ish

The people who voiced their concerns did so in a considered way. There were no personal attacks, just discomfort with how the original spirit of the threads had been altered. The OP's inability to empathise with other viewpoints speaks volumes.
