I agree. The putrid media haunted his preciously short life, wreaking havoc and distress. An attempt to tarnish his image still further, reopening a simple police entrapment activity, is unnecessary and distasteful.

That video for Outside was a class act response. Those of us who loved him will anyway, no matter what hatchet job they pull on his memory.

I wasn’t a fan of George and I won’t watch the program

Because it’s dredging up something that shouldn’t be

The media tried to ruin him and possibly eventually did

Tormented and harassed for being himself and not what he was expected to be

Shame on them and shame on c4 for opening sore wounds

RIP GM your music inspired a generation!

I thought this but watched it anyway.

I think it's a good documentary so far. Part 2 tomorrow.

People forget how utterly shit it was in the 80's/ 90's for gay people.

I frickin love that he went out for a meal after the arrest and wouldn't hide. I never knew he did that. Whoop whooop!!!

Essex

Not a massive fan but do like some of his tracks and songs.

I agree come on outside classic video great song.

Never knew the guy but obviously he had his demons as most talented people do genius one step from madness as they say.

I agree leave the guy alone, but did hear one comment on a clip advertising the show. A piece of shit jurno saying he was at the sun and if they went after some one they got them.

Why people buy this shit rag is beyond me it should have gone the way of its sister paper the News of the World. You’re not telling me they weren’t using the same illegal tactics as the news of the world.

Owned and run by the totally amoral piece of shit Murdoch.

I don’t care who sleeps with who, or who they feel needs bringing down.

If a person is a good singer and doing nothing illegal leave their private life alone.

If a footballer is fucking a pro, let them do it why do we need to know?

What is it about people that they feel the need to drag others down?

Why didn’t they put as much energy into going after all the pedos who were rife at the time?

Wayne Rooney shags old boiler pro front page news, George Michael caught wanking in public toilet cubicle with another man in the next stall front page news.

Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris, Stuart Hall Gary Gilter etc abusing children left right and centre nothing said at the time.

Real journalists at their best, why weren’t they tapping Jim’s phone?

Sorry rant over just hate the gutter press in this country and TV seems to following suit

A whole documentary about that one event ? Now they could do a two part, one for his time in Wham, and then following his solo career. celebrate his genius and wonderful voice.

Being outed is night and day to coming out. It needed a documentary to explain it.

It was also about other men who got outed. About how the papers were really nasty about gay men, feeding the frenzy of the general public homophobia. A bit about Wham and how they started.

Should be on the Channel 4 app thingy if people want to see it.

Tonight is about his Outside video apparently.

Out n About

When you compare him to other celebrities aka Saville, Glitter, Harris. He did nothing wrong.

People also seem to forget or are unaware of how generous he was and how much he gave to charities and friends etc.

How long before they have a pop at Freddie Mercury because of his sexual preferences?

couple, us we him her.

Fucking gutter press bunch of Neanderthal's and that's an insult to Neanderthal's.

Haven't brought a newspaper for years and years.

I have no idea what this British obsession is with building someone up only to do everything possible to destroy them.

I'd like to say that times have moved on from outing people but sadly it's the same mindset but a different agenda these days the media being fashionably woke destroying anyone who end's up in their cross hairs.

Leave him rest in peace and celebrate his talent.

He helped many and didn't let the world know! Because he done it out of kindness not for a knighthood. No one's sexuality should even matter!

Did you know he was gay, or assume he was? When I was a teenager I just wished he was.

I watched both parts last night (I go a bit gooey for George) and one thing that got said was that the majority of men having or looking for gay sex …are “straight”. I guess this meant living a heteronormative life.

I found that a bit depressing.

I was at high school in the 80’s and brought up on glam rock in the 70’s into the 80’s with great bands and singers and we didn’t care about anything else. There was no internet and the newspapers and the gutter press would chase people for scandal.

Unfortunately as in the case of George Michael he sadly took his own life. The press should be held accountable for their actions.

Many of my friends are big GM fans and his legacy lives on.
