Have you tried putting up meets for socials/walks? Your profile mentions you're a bit shy. There are many, many shy people on here so that's a good start, it's just getting everyone out of their shells to meet that's an issue 
I think there are quite a few clubs in your area, if you can possibly face getting along to one, explain how you're feeling to the host, they'll keep an eye out for you through the night  good luck | |||
