"Wont meet smokers"

Mmmm don’t feel comfortable with that, we, Ann and I Jim don’t smoke while we play and would not dream of smoking in another person’s home, even if we were invited to do so. We will not smoke in our own home cus cigarettes makes the house stink and discolours our décor. We choose to smoke outside winter as well. "Wont meet smokers” Don’t know if it’s a genuine “can’t stand the smell of your ashtray breath” or a “Look at me I stopped; anti-smoking arsehole” sure I do not want to meet opinionated peeps. Cheeking profiles, verification, and their friend’s helps verify genuine personalities. Avoiding large egos, pushy types and of cause the selfish. My pleasure is my wife’s pleasure then the pleasure we all get when couples and individuals get together, and when the whole becomes greater than our individual parts/personalities. Our experience with none-smokers every time is, if the smokers are hot, good company, good chemistry, gosh and good personalities, smoking is no longer an issue and as long as you smoke outside then the guests don’t give a shit. Julie is looking amazing, and announces “we are going outside for a fag is that ok” and the hosts and guests (that we’ve met anyway) are very accommodating “sure no problem” usually digging out a (just in case) ashtray. Smokers carrying some type of breath freshening, mints or a spray is a thought-full thing to do, that and of cause carrying condoms. Cus me and me Ann smoke we are probably paying more attention to our hygiene and manicure.

So I would request that you hardworking administrators give thought to dropping the pigeon holing of members on this site into “Will meet smokers” and “ Wont meet smokers” and consider more options:

“Sorry but smoking has to be a no no for us”

“May meet smokers”

“Will meet smokers” or

Smoking preferences could be added to a dedicated speech box.

Perhaps other members could improve on this theme.

For those exact reasons above is the reason why we as non smokers will meet smokers.

All of the smokers we have met so far have been considerate and have not burst into flames in the throes of passion .

Plus I feel a tad sorry for them as they are up against major persecution at the moment by dear old Nanny State , it will probably us the state turns on next .

I dont mind the option on the top its fairly simple either people will meet smokers or they won't meet smokers.

Dont really see the problem?

I (Paul) smoke again never in the house and always carry mints if out on a meet, however if someone doesn't want to meet because of this fair enough its their choice

If they don't want to meet smokers and you smoke, then I am afraid they just don't want to meet you.

Smokers smell. However much we try not to, smoke particles cling to our clothes, our hair, our skin. Even as a stinky smoker myself I can tell when someone has had a fag. Imagine what it must smell like to a non-smoker?

And there are other reasons. My mother hates smoking and smokers because that is how her dad died. Others may have had a closer brush with lung disease. Others may be trying to give up and find it hard to meet people who still can light up.

If people don't want to meet smokers then respect their choices. Its the ones who have it on their profile but who 'make an exception' who make me go

Some of us won't meet smokers for health reasons ours is a "Formaldehyde Allergy" formaldehyde is a by product of smoking but we do not condemn smokers having only given up three years ago.

I'm glad there is that option on profiles as i don't smoke and i don't want to meet a smoker, no matter how often they clean their teeth, eat mints, wash their hands, spray perfume etc after a fag, i can still smell smoke on their breath and clothes and it makes me feel sick .... i don't wish to stop people smoking but i don't want to meet them !

I've brought this up loads of times when I've received messages from couples and singles who say won't meet smokers. My reply as been...but i smoke! Their reply... Oh that's ok, not like your going to smoke while playing is it lol

Smokers breath smells, doesn't matter how many mints you eat, breath sprays you use or mouth wash it still smells. Having said that a lot of non smokers have bad breath too. We meet smokers but what is the point of getting worked up about what is personal choice, it isn't persecution or bad discrimination it's just how things are.

I smoke, and while I do agree that the smell of smoke can linger on clothes if someone is a heavy smoker, it does not linger for hours on a clean light smoker.

I have been in houses where the cat litter tray or the fur from 4 Labradors blowing around the tiled floors like tumble is far worse.

I believe that the black and white, will/wont meet smokers should have a third not bothered option.

It's never really bothered me. I've been given up for about 4 months (but still have the odd crafty fag now and again) but still meet smokers.

Some people are really sensitive to it. Plenty of people still meet smokers, so its all good.

Mrs typing and as an ex smoker of 7 years. yes i am really proud of the fact i went from 30-40 a day to none and stuck with it.. i stopped because i was ill that was all i loved smoking..

However choice is choice and we will not meet smokers. maybe i am more sensitive to the smell now i really dont know but its not just breath its the taste when you kiss someone and its also on clothes and people used to say it to me when i smoked and i thought they were being a bit petty but you can it lingures everywhere on a person not just breath.

However the main thing to remember here is that a profile on the net is a very snapshot of someone and think its only fair that all relevant information is covered to give others the outline of a person.. in order that it can be assessed if you want to meet them..completely different if you meet initially face to face.. when first contact/meeting as such is via a profile a decision has to be made then.. also if you are faced with thousands of members online why the hell not be able to put your preferences down and meet people of like mind set etc as yourself..

What is more annoying is the people that spend more time moaning about people having selected options that exclude them (thats a general comment based on several posts over the last few days) It must be that time of year for people to take an issue with people who have excluded them

Surely options are there and give people the choice to use them or not.

However why would you resort to name calling of the anti smoking ex smokers..i'll have you know i hated smokers before i started myself.. but i then smoked and have now given up (a tumour tends to scare you into giving up) and now i have given up i dont hate smokers infact outside i will stand and chat to smokers.. however that doesnt mean i want to get physical and start kissing and playing with them..

And yes when someone walks past i can tell they have been smoking.. and no not close enough for them to breathe on me.

Its just easier to let each to their own dont resort to name calling and concentrate on the ones that will meet tbh.. its all suppose to be fun and its all a matter of choice..

The sad fact is some do.

As for opinionated (mentioned earlier in the thread and apparent in the sarky quote) well that goes both ways. if you want to smoke then you smoke, where and when is your choice. I choose not to smoke and dont like the smell of 'ashtray breath' or the taste of 'ashtraycum' and worst of all the lingering smell of nicotine as it oozes out when a smoker gets too hot and sweats.

At the end of the day it boils down preferences

We've all got or do something that doesn't appeal to all.

We have never smoked and don't meet smokers. The reason for this is that you can taste smoke on someones skin. Similar to those who live off a regular diet of spicy food, the taste will be apparent on the skin and in bodily fluids.

Both of us have had situations in clubs when we have started to play but we've tasted smoke. My OH can taste it when going down on women and it does put him off. I have also smelt it when I tried to indulge in oral sex with a guy.

I know smokers don't want to accept the smell and are considerate and will do their utmost to not have lingering smells. But you can't get rid of it unless you give up for about 3 months.

I'm an ex-smoker. I can remember the first time I shared a lift with someone who did and I felt stupid that I spent time and effort on keeping myself clean and spending money on perfume when I actually smelled that bad.

It's a preference, just like anything else but at least having a hairy minge won't give anyone cancer.

It's not the person who are being spurned, it's the habit.

We wont play with anyone who indulges in drugs for kicks, that's our choice.

We wont meet people who play bareback.

There are plenty of people on this site to choose from, bypass the ones who don't tickle your fancy

Sure this is going to be the same argument as "why do people put Won't Meet Bi Guys?" but in a different form.

If people don't like it then they won't meet you. You could be the Brad and Angelina of Fab, but if you smoked I wouldn't meet you. I just don't find it attractive as you can never quite get rid of the smell. There's no great conspiracy there.

I don't smoke, I have never smoked a single fag in my life. I would play with a smoker if they never smelt or tasted of smoke , but would not play with someone who sunk of smoke. I have had meets at houses that smelt of smoke and just made my excuses and left.

I hate smoking with a passion. I don't care how many breath mints people say they suck on, I can still smell it in your hair, on clothes and on the body.

I also lost my father at the young age of 45 due to his 40 a day habit, I would hate for anyone to have to find their own father dead in his bed. It's a vision that I still have nightmares about.

IMO it's filthy and I'll never entertain it.

My preference is just that, MINE.

I won't meet smokers as I am asthmatic and the smell lingers on clothing and skin. The taste comes out of the pores and I don't wish to taste it or smell it. This is my preference same as it is my preference not to play with non white males so it is each to their own. I choose not to meet smokers for health reasons.

Got as far as the 'mmmm, not comfortable with that' bit and in my opinion it's not about whether anyone is comfortable or not bar those you're looking to meet with.

If they're not comfortable with it and don't want to meet you - that's their prerogative! They don't need to justify their reasoning any more than I need to explain my preferences!

HOWEVER:we have met loads of non-smokers who in fact do smoke when we meet them or go to their partys

....be nice to know beforehand as it means i don't have to look for a discreet "smoking corner" outside.

Find it confusing to get messages from"wont meet sokers" fabsters.They/he/she obviously not read our profile in full

....and than so funny when they reply:oh we like to meet you:you don't look like a typical smoker

It's a preference, we are all entitled to state what we do/don't like.

I've never smoked, and for this reason will never meet a smoker. I am very sensitive to the smell and it makes me feel sick.

You can't please everyone, just like some won't meet single guys/hairy women/black men (for example)

World would be pretty boring if we all liked the same thing.

I wouldn't generalise and say everyone does, but some people do have a slightly greyish tinge to their skin from inhaling nicotine and the skin is drawn in around the cheekbones and mouth area. sometimes you can tell from looking at someone whether they smoke or not.

Of course this is not the case for everyone, maybe heavy smokers

we dont smoke - i lost a past partner to lung cancer cos of his smoking - but tis your choice - as it is for anybody to choose not to meet smokers - we will but not want to share it - welcome to use the garden to smoke tho

Risky here, I went out with a smoker for a short while many years ago. I could just about put up with the smell until I went down on her. It was like licking out an ashtray.... Now at parties we've met people who did smell from smoking, yet we've played with others who have said after I'm off for a smoke and we'd neber have known.

So maybe there should be a " If you smoke can we have a sniff before we commit?" box.

We will for the right people and I'm damn glad we changed our minds - have had some epic experiences with couples who one or both smoke.

My only rule is simple - if you are at our house hell no on the smoking as there's a 7 month old baby resident.

we get ppl message us all the time saying can we meet you we check there profiles and it says dont meet smokers we reply back saying you dont meet smokers and most say the same ol chessnut oh did i tick that.

ill change it now others we have met again say we dont smoke but if your considerate smokers we will meet you .

were not going to disrespect ppls homes if they say you can go out the back if you want a ciggie if we do go they come with you and 9 times out of 10 produce a pkt of ciggies and join you whats that all about .

95% of the people I've met don't meet smokers lol not only that, they normally pinch a sneaky ciggie at some point during the day/night. It's a guideline, nothing more. I smoke a lot. Less if at someone's house coz I'll go outside to smoke but that preference means nothing in my experience. Just another pointless box to tick! Xxx

We are non-smoking but meet smokers. We don't have anyone smoke in the house, but outside is okay - we've a sandpot in the garden to chuck the butts in.. no probs there and don't know why the fuss sometimes to be honest.
