Is on I am watching to see if I can learn a bit more about her time as prime minister.....I do believe we could benefit from another woman prime minister or someone that has some understanding of real life....

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's not really a film about Maggie as Prime Minister or as a leader. It's more about loss, grieving, change and dementia.

I enjoyed it but not as a way of finding out about Maggie or the things I remember from her time as Prime Minister.

Olivia Colman is brilliant as Carole Thatcher though.

I'm same age as you and I remember real life being pretty good from my point of view...bought a house at 18, walked out of college into a job, only been out of work 6 months (by choice) during my career...I cried when Mrs T was ousted - she was the PM during my formative years and I admire her, but think we'll not see her like again. Am recording the film to watch later

My dad was a miner, I left school early to get a job to pay the mortgage on the family home, we had meals from soup kitchens....not all bad. But doesn't provoke great memories for me.

Always going to be people who agree and disagree with others decisions in life, for me and my family the Thatcher years were not good ones.

Eventually went back to education and have a decent job, my mum and dad still have their property, so I suppose what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Horrible woman, as my grandad said, "she destroyed more Scottish industry than the Luftwaffe".

Poll tax was a terrible idea too, introducing it a year early on us was taking the piss.

One thing i will say about thatcher is, she may have fucked us over but she was honest and she'd tell you she was fucking you over, not like today where they promise you everything and never deliver, she just told you from the start what she was doing even if we didnt like it, have to respect her for that

i would vote her in time and time again...she never shirked or pissed about over tough decisions and the poll tax...well it was the fairest tax of all...her mistake was not introducing it nationwide...can u imagine if tony or gordon wer in power when the argies went for the falklands...fuck me theyd have signed us all over to them...a great lady...lets hope we see her ilk again...

It took over 150 for the industrial revoluton to happen in Britain and Maggie finished it in less than 10 yrs! As a child grew up looking up to her but as I grew older realised what she did to hard working honest people trying to make a living wich had no other choice.

She nearly lost us the Falklands with her savage cuts to the defence budget, our last two carriers were to be sold off a few months after the invasion, without them we were humped. The only people that should be thanked are the troops.

Quite right too.Mrs Thatch is always going to split opinions.....but that doesn't make her any less an interesting subject matter for a film.

I agree and that is how I watched it. It gave a good insight into some aspects of dementia as well as the rapid movement between different states and frames of mind. Tbh I did not really see it so much as being about Maggie.. but more about a human being and a fate that is shared by an increasing number of people.

It was ok but not a film I can make my own choice on how she ran this country...it seems though she did no worse a job than today's PM. I am losing my job due to central government cuts... So my view on today's government is pretty poor...
