Whenever I go to a place other than home I always hate coming back. London is the worst. I travel to London all the time and always hate coming back home. I always end up leaving part of me there or any destination I go to. Eating food cooked by my mum helps but today I dropped my mum off to the airport x

I don't understand.

You don't like coming home?

Where do you want to be?

"I don't understand.

It's hard to explain. But I always enjoy myself while I'm there and coming back home isn't quite the same. I always tend to leave part of my soul there.

Work out what's making you feel unhappy, and think about what you could do to change that. Spend some time thinking about things that make you happy as well, and do more of that. Life is challenging when you feel like this - but you're not alone in going through this kind of thing. Just remember to be kind to yourself as you work out what you want to do

I've always wanted to move to London but my mind can be my worst nightmare at times. This is that time

Providing there isn’t anything stopping you then why don’t you think about putting plans into place to move closer to your friends if that’s where you’re most happy.

I HAVE had that feeling in the past but it was to do with depression, isolation and a really shitty relationship...

I moved "up North" with a Boyfriend to start a life together (couldn't afford to rent or buy down this way), but the relationship turned sour. Coming home to visit family and friends made me feel like my World was complete, but going back destroyed me every time.

I don't know what your circumstances are, but would a move be possible?

What I would say is London is amazing for the first maybe, 5 years you live here. And there are benefits throughout, you have everything on your doorstep, gigs, every fun event or business etc.

But it's so expensive and becomes exhausting quick. And then when you want to chill at home, even that's alot more expensive than elsewhere.

So I promise you there's negatives to this place.

I'm single ATM and would love to move there. I think I just need to sit down and brainstorm with myself.

Sometimes it's helpful to just open up to strangers who can help you see things from a different perspective. Only you can make you happy, if that makes sense? The journey won't be easy but the destination will make it worth it

Sorry to hear. I'm in no relationship ATM but I have lots of laughs and giggles while in London. But I'm an overthinker

Absolutely. If you can work out a situation to live here for a year or 2 and see how you feel, do it absolutely. But I have countless mates who are now moving away from London and if it wasn't for work I'd do the same

I always feel the same when I come back from holidays. Home is fine its home but if I could move my house to wherever I had just been on holiday I would in a heartbeat. It just means your restless for some change I guess, and not quite found your place yet.

Aberdeen, Leeds, Sheffield

I was going to joke that the best thing about going to London is the train home, but actually, I wonder if there's not a valid point in that - is it that London is a nice escape from everyday/home life? Would it be the same if you lived there, had to do all the boring stuff as well? The idea that others have suggested of trying moving there for a year or two is sound, but I wonder whether the magic might rub off if it were no longer an escape, in the same way moving to a holiday destination might quickly seem less idyllic when you live there?
