Does anyone wild camp? Bivi it? Do the Johnny Rambo wild bush thing?

My mate does, remote Scottish loch fishing, man does that take some hiking.

I do occasionally get tempted out by a friend, but I'm more likely to eat in an ou t of the way pub than out of my old crusader mug

Yeah, I do, I've wild camped on dartmoor all my life and am frequently up a mountain somewhere, although I did buy a campervan last year cos it's just easier

the abyss

There is something very freeing about wild camping now and then - although never bivy'd it, Scottish weather was too unpredictable

I am coveting a van even though I love camping. Rain on a solid roof would be much better than wondering if you are going to float away in the night.

We go wild camping every year and I have done since I was really young. They’ve got really strict about where you can and can’t camp around Scotland now though. I think it had a lot to do with people camping instead of going on their usual holidays during lockdown and just leaving an absolute mess , chopping down trees to use as firewood etc.
