I do find it interesting how people who openly admit they aren't swingers, yet joined a swingers website. I know this site can be for anyone and for whatever reason, but look at it this way...

I don't crochet, so the last thing I'd join is a crocheting site. I'm honestly not knocking anyone as this site is for anyone and everyone, I'm just genuinely curious as to peoples reasons for googling swinging and signing up to here if they aren't swingers.

As numbers go up my attraction to a person goes down. Not because of slut shaming in the moral sense but because I don't want others to know how my guy sounds and smells and tastes. These things are intimate and have value and I would guard them and savour them like the prize they are. Not throw open the doors of our bedroom and invite the world in.

If a couple invited me to join them as a third, that would be their decision. I'd not judge as it's not my place. I've been the third.

But if I was in a couple I'd not choose to share fully. I'd have to carefully consider anything my partner wished t try that involved another. Likely it'd be the start of the end to even know that they wanted it.

Weirdly though I am a member of a crochet site, because a friend of mine sells crochet patterns and posts photos of things she's made on there to gauge whether the items are likely to be popular enough to go to the trouble of typing the patterns up. I'm on there to support her, not because I have any particular interest in crochet. If she posted on Insta then I'd join Insta!

The point I'm trying to make (albeit in a half-arsed fashion) is that even though someone might not be on here for the same reason as I am I never doubt that they have their own reason for enjoying the site. As long as their enjoyment doesn't impact on my enjoyment I normally figure their reasons don't matter to me.

I was really lucky to get talking to a swinger who was willing to answer every inane, ridiculous question I could come up with. And I became more and more interested, fascinated and wanting to learn.

Would I call myself a swinger - no, not yet, I don’t have the experience of the lifestyle. But I’ve met some fantastic friends here, am becoming part of the community and if not for an unscheduled hospital visit requiring surgery would have attended my first club and private party by now.

So to answer your question. Fascination with the lifestyle and if it was for me was the first reason. I stay because I believe it is, but wouldn’t want to disrespect others by calling myself ‘fully fledged’ yet.

I can safely say however that I wouldn’t want to do back to a ‘vanilla’ lifestyle or relationship. So it has had an impact

Thank you, the surgery has been had, plaster came off 2 weeks ago (having been on for 8 weeks) and I’m becoming more mobile.

It’s just my luck to have been invited to a club and a private party whilst on crutches. But who knows, I might get lucky to be invited again.

And for anyone reading this, stretch, achilles tendon surgery is not something I’d recommend

My real opinion.

This site should change its name. It’s not what it was set up for as intended. It might have once been a place for true swingers (the way we all imagined *keys in a bowl/ couples meeting couples/ connecting with like minded people) but users will find a way to make things work for them. So, as years have gone by, and it’s many years apparently. It’s now a hook up site/soft porn exhibitionist site/dating site and other things.

Swinging is just one of those things.

F*cebook is not what it once was. There’s a market place where I could buy stuff. It’s still called Facebook though.

I went through my 40s with no sexual contact at all, had some life changing experiences just as I turned 50 and decided I wanted to explore me.

In comparison to many I had very little sexual experience when I found this site and signed up when I was 52 and I saw it as a way of finding new experiences.

It has never been a hook-up site for me because I'm extremely fussy who I get naked with but it's pretty obvious I'm not a swinger in the traditional sense.

I don't have sex just for the sake of it.

I'm not big into the social side of the site either although I have attended a few socials.

I have made some great friends through here, most of whom I've never got jiggy with and have been very lucky to find an amazing FWB who is on a similar journey and who makes it all worthwhile.

We have a couples profile also but circumstances have put our fab adventures on the long finger for now.

I’m not a swinger, but many years ago when I was looking for a fwb type scenario, here was recommended to me. The same goes for Mr.

I think you are reading too much into the site name "Fabswingers".

Originally it was set up as a "swingers" site but times have changed since then and it's now more of a casual sex, hookup, FWB, FB type site.

Also I don't crochet and I m also on a crochet site.

It is difficult because being single I guess I'll never be classed as a swinger. But where else can I find someone who may be into the swinging lifestyle?

But in answer to how I found Fab - I was encouraged to join by a friend of mine after I ended up joining him and his partner on the Fab cams many years ago

It has been lovely to see positive comments on the wide variety who use and enjoy fab for their own reasons and walk their own path here.

As some have mentioned above, it makes a lovely change from the less kind 'what are you even doing here?' judgement that can be dished out by a few.

I didn't google swinging sites at all.

I had been meeting someone through a completely non related, non sex, non swinging site and that had come to an end.

I wanted those experiences to continue and saw Craigslist mentioned on a forum and tried there.

Nothing came of it but I saw an ad from someone mentioning another swing site and I joined it.

It wasn't very user friendly so it was only at that point I searched for an alternative and that's how I found fab just over 6 years ago.

Joined as a single because I like sex and didn't want a relationship, didn't class myself as a swinger but made some great friends and enjoyed the FWBs relationships that I had. Found a relationship through here that I wasn't looking for and came back as a couple. Still don't class myself as a swinger, probably because we are looking for a little more than just sex.
