I unearthed a Skid Row t-shirt at home recently that's 30 years old!

I started wearing it again and always get some comments.

They brought out a new album last year. It's not bad either!

I've always viewed them as the thinking mans RHCP, they play round with form & instrumentation a little more. Also found Perry's Porno for Pyros side project rather good

Haha I would have agreed with Bad Brains but over their career they did a couple of absolutely brilliant albums (ROIR and I also like The Quickness) but then went into a very bad space mentally, with a homophobic assault on one of their fans and I believe assaulting fans at their gigs who they thought were nazis because they had shaved heads, and their subsequent albums were/are absolutely dire to the point of being embarrassing.

But their early stuff is unparalleled greatness

I only posted because my profile pic is me wearing a Bad Brains T shirt lol.

I think my contribution might be Power Trip who I think were just on the cusp of breaking big when their enigmatic vocalist suddenly died at a young age.

I don't have anything to do with the rock scene nowadays, I just listen at home and have little idea of who has made it big or hasn't.

I would also have said Gojira, but I think they may now be getting the attention and recognition they deserve.... If they aren't, then I say Gojira, followed by Power Trip

As fans of the Wildhearts and Terrorvision, both of these bands should've had greater success. Both of them are so good live.

Also bands like Royal Republic, Massive Wagons and Eureka Machines are massively under rated.

Well you've blocked me so I can't reply privately..it first started out when they played a gig in Texas in the early 80s..with MDC and the big boys ..the big boys singer randy biscuit turner was gay..if you Google..big boys randy biscuit turner bad brains homophobia ..you will find several articles..I don't have a problem with them being homophobic. I actually like roir and rock for light albums....I just wanted to point out the homophobia wasn't a new thing from them

"Haha I would have agreed with Bad Brains but over their career they did a couple of absolutely brilliant albums (ROIR and I also like The Quickness) but then went into a very bad space mentally, with a homophobic assault on one of their fans and I believe assaulting fans at their gigs who they thought were nazis because they had shaved heads, and their subsequent albums were/are absolutely dire to the point of being embarrassing.

But their early stuff is unparalleled greatness

Bad brains were homophobic from the very start...gays are not tolerated in that bullshit rasta ideology

Proof??

Well you've blocked me so I can't reply privately..it first started out when they played a gig in Texas in the early 80s..with MDC and the big boys ..the big boys singer randy biscuit turner was gay..if you Google..big boys randy biscuit turner bad brains homophobia ..you will find several articles..I don't have a problem with them being homophobic. I actually like roir and rock for light albums....I just wanted to point out the homophobia wasn't a new thing from them"

I will look ...you weren't blocked as a consequence of this thread, so I don't understand why (single male I guesss)

yes check out the young and moody band ( featuring Lemmy from Motörhead, cozy Powell and Micky moody with the Nolan’s as backing singers) singing Don’t do that it’s proper Rock n Roll

"As fans of the Wildhearts and Terrorvision, both of these bands should've had greater success. Both of them are so good live.

Also bands like Royal Republic, Massive Wagons and Eureka Machines are massively under rated.

They were both great fun live. Ginger is an amazing frontman.

Thrice is criminally underrated for me.

Every album is class and an evolution.

They recently rerecorded (not remastered) their breakthrough album, 'The Artist and the Ambulance'. Absolutely brilliant and I recommend a listen.

Great band and still going (although not in my opinion as great as when they first burst onto the scene).

Aor rock band Touch. Opened the first Donington festival in 1980 and released an excellent debut album. Should have been much bigger but never had the right management.

Autopsy.

They appeared amidst a whole slew of Thrash/Death/Black Metal acts and never really got the full praise they deserved as amongst their peers at the time, I felt they stood out.
