...behind the wheel?

Are you a placid and courteous driver?

Are you a demon posessed?

Im such a laid back driver that on Christmas Day we left the restaurant and I went straight through a red light! Oopps. £60 fine and 3 points. First ever offence in 26 years of driving and am pee'd off with myself.

In my defence the traffic lights were abit confusing and luckily there were no other cars about!

In general I'm calm, laid back and courteous, until I see people display a complete lack of awareness or ability behind the wheel. Then I want to drag them from their cars and punch them in the throat!

I really, really love driving and getting wound up by other drivers would spoil my sense of fun.

I am usually quite calm, minding my own business, keeping my distance away from the car in front.

However, I dislike a car driving too close to me, and am inclined to tap on my brakes and/or to slow down.

Brighton - even Hove!

I hope I'm calm....on long distances, I put good music on and cruise control and sit back and steer. I'm afraid I tend to be a middle lane hogger

Or an accident because you decided it was important to make a point instead of just letting the idiot carry on and forget that everyone has made mistakes whilst driving

I hate it when I am obeying the speed limit driving through residential areas at any time of the day, for the one behind me to drive right up my arse.

I just slow down.

I am very calm and chilled behind the wheel, I dont do stress at all, if the car behind needs an ego boost by overtaking me and making up about 15ft on the road, then god bless them, they obviously need the ego boost more than me

.

Indeed.

I am not going to risk having points on my license for speeding or driving without due care or attention.

I'm sure most people can learn left foot braking....its the unexpected reaction of the individual behind and the possible chain reaction that's the issue. I get angry too but we all need to pause before reacting ?

I admit to giving drivers a rude hand signal or a flash of the high beam when they overtake me while I am obeying the legal speed limit in build up areas.

dont get stressed cos the two dont go together..

of the opinion that the standard of driving is pretty piss poor by and large, and that the driving test is'nt stringent enough..

what annoys me is when so called 'professional' drivers dont do the basics..

old bill who fail to indicate etc ...

99% of the time i am placcid and courteous but there is the odd time some knob head decides want to tailgate me then i may hit the brakes or wait till they start overtaking then out accelerate them leaving them on the wrong side of the road i know its wrong but sometimes you have to teach them a lesson, one of the joys of owning a sports car

see i find that type of behaviour not only totally wrong but also stupid and dangerous tbh..

one day if you continue, you will come unstuck and someone could be hurt..is it worth it..?

why let them reduce your driving standard to theirs..?

I know,to be honest at the end of the journey i thought why did i just do that? i guess it was a rush of blood to the head but it seems everytime i get in that car i am a moving bullseye.Just for the record i have been driving 14 years and never had a crash, speed ticket or even a parking ticket.I am a very placid person but sometimes the straw breaks the camels back.

I am generally a calm driver. I love driving and I love my car

The way I look at it is that is has taken me two years of hard slog to build the car back up so why drive in a way that risks the car and all that work.

Having said that I do like a bit of "spirited" driving but it is reserved for 3am on the way home from nights when there is no-one else around. And there are very occasionally people who do make me flip out on the road!

Do you think attitude behind the wheel comes down to experience or complacency?

I'm calm and courteous

I try to be a careful and considerate driver - But that didn't stop me going through a red light last year and writing off my car - so just shows even the best of us can make mistakes
