Worse than the last generation?

I'd have to say yes.

The amount of teens getting stabbed by other teens is on the rise.

But it's not just violence, it's attitudes and failings of some parents.

My neighbour has a 6yr old daughter who screems "fuck this" and "fuck that" whils on a playstation. She's 6yr old FFS!

I personally think that with some much more news/information, more misdeeds are being heard about, rather than there being a specific increase.

And indeed if the "new generation" is rubbish, then surely that has something to do with the "previous generation" who raised them?

They are actually finally much better that the last. The outlook for mental health is very very positive going forward .

This generation now readily accepts they need and are much more likely to get therapy, so are much less likely to pass their problems down to their own kids and grandkids like generations before them.

No they aren't, but the media attention continues to grow opening them up to scrutiny and exposure.

Theres always been nightmare kids and shit parents, we just see it in 30 second bursts with a 90s dance mix looped in the background

Id say they are and id say they are not, kids today have more to distract them and to influence them than when I was a kid, I remember the days when we had 3 or 4 TV channels, todays kids are influenced by YouTube and the like. I think for some not all parents are the problem, the internet or a game console should not parent the kid but yet they spend more time in front of it.

Well without getting into everything, increased awareness of crime doesn’t necessarily mean increased crime. Think about how integrated in our lives the media is compared to 20 years ago. With the internet in its infancy and no smart phones, we didn’t get to hear about a lot of stuff.

And I expect your final comment was tongue in cheek, but one has to wonder where your neighbour’s daughter picked up that language. Do you see the irony of your final sentence?!

I would say that for example when it comes to LGBTQ or any minority, there is more understanding, empathy, kindness in the younger generation of today than a few decades ago. Just one example....

Maybe, in some ways they are worse, in others they are so much better.

Christ, the ego of some in other generations is off the charts. Acting like kids of their own generation were shining examples of perfection. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Somebody from 2 generations above me was telling me a story of how her brothers said something similar to the OP, to which she proceeded to rip them a new one with, and I am quoting "the fuck they are. When you were that age you had the police chasing you across the fucking roof of the houses. You were unholy little shits"

Considering there are plenty of kids over 2-3 generations that had access to some or all of these things that ended up stable (as stable as anyone else at least) I'd say the influence of these is far from the majority of the problem.

According to my Son in Law, who is Chinese, the amount of racism aimed at my grandkids is far worse than anything he experienced when he was their age. Kids as young as ten have no qualms about racially abusing anyone who is of a different race.
