Dec 2012 was good as I had 2 meets in one month.

Nothing bad except for the dreadful weather which dampened some of the fun while out camping.

Best thing was discovering just how loved I am.

Worst thing was that it was as a result of getting diagnosed with cancer.

Pretty level year. Nothing spectacular. First year in five years that nothing truly horrible has occurred

Best part of 2012... buying an old car.

I decided I didn't want to use the car I drive for work for some of my ermmmmm hobby activities and I needed to clear the shed out and do some DIY stuff involving bags of cement and stuff which could have made a mess.... so around the end of May I bought a 05 plate car. I got it really cheap as it had been in quite a few minor bumps and scrapes (I think the previous owner had problems parking it).

It's brilliant!

It took a while to get over the reduced number of mod cons like built in satnav and bluetooth connections to my phone and ipod..... but aside from that I love it.

I've driven new cars for the last 20+ years and not one has lasted more than a month before some dickbrain put a trolley dent it it, wacked a door into it, turned full lock too soon and dragged their bumper down the fucking side of it or some other mistery fucking dent appeared and the amount of times I would come back to the car and find some shit-head had parked inches away from the driver's door. New cars seem to attract twats to park right next to you.

But my old car..... no one seems to park near it. Even if it did get a bump, knock or dent I wouldn't notice or care. I don't need to worry about where I park it or anything.

It's seriously fucking brilliant!

Apart from the weather, I had a hefty repair bill for my car due to radiator leak resulting in a blown head gasket.

It made me re-assess my priorities and finances, resulted in a major change that should have happened a year sooner.

Better late than never they say.

High point, meeting crystal.

Low point, spending most of the year ill and/or injured and doing nowhere near as much cycling or running as I'd like.

High point. No longer house sharing and getting my own place in the summer. I can't really remember any low points maybe just recovering from an op and having shingles but they were more minor inconveniences.

The beginning of 2012 wasn't very nice at all. Workwise for members of my family it was a little shaky which was very worrying at the time.

Also my 17yr old fell in teenage lust but his gf's family were a nightmare and caused me lots of stress. Stress that I could have avoided if I'd have chilled out a little, but this girls family are really common and we don't share the same family values. I didn't want him involved with people like that and they were taking money off him etc and also dumping the girl on my doorstep for a week whilst we were at work when they buggered off somewhere in their camper van. Of course I blew my top and had it out with the mother which did embarrass my son but I won't let people walk over him or me. It was a hard lesson to learn for me as a mother having to let go and let my little boy make and learn from his own mistakes.

The second half of the year has gone well. Workwise for members of my family it picked up and is really good. Also I changed my job. I had been for several interviews and not been successful. I went to the last one with a relaxed attitude because I didn't thi nk I had a chance as I hadn't got experience and had only passed exams last July. I wasn't nervous in the interview, my presentation was relaxed etc and I got the job. More stress of course but I love it

Worst year of my life for car related things. Also lost a good 'friend with benefits'.

On the plus side my little lad started school and I'm told he is very bright which means all my additional educational tutoring has paid off. I've also developed a better relationship with my mother.

.

2012 brought me something I had known about for sometime, but not written down in black and white. Gonna be tough in the future, but getting the 'yes it is' in another way has taken a huge weight of my shoulder. So is a good and a bad thing.

A good thing tho is something happened which made tis much easier for me to deal with it, thank you
