Id still go for my child tho, age is irrelevant to me they are still my child

I saw a similar question asked on a talk show...the host said he'd choose his wife...the lady he chose, the reason they have children and the one he made promises to. Though we all know we would help our children as that's what both parents would want.

Would save my son with out a second thought, once he was saved would try and get C even if it was too late. Children are what pairents live for. Can always get another gf lol (sorry c)

First i would not have a child with out a Life jacket on a boat moving and out side .. I have got my life saves too and over the years saved some lives , one i saved i almost died too .. was a young girl she was going mad taking me under i had to almost knock her out .Never even got a thankyou ,lol

Howvwer, that does not means i feel a childs life is worth more than an adults, or i would always rescuse a chil over an adult, it is simply that MY child is the person in the world most important to me.

As a mother, it would have to be the child I would choose. Pragmatically, it would also be the child - it would require less food and so we would both have a better chance of surviving. And, in terms of strength, the child would win again - I probably would stand more chance of hauling a child back into a boat than an adult.

It won't happen as I do not have kids!

However, if both the cat and the dog are in the water, I would rescue the cat first as the dog is a better swimmer.

None of the passengers on the boat would be onboard without a life jacket in the first place and my child certaintly would not be left unsupervised at any time! so therefore Hopefully i would not have put myself in the position to have to choose who to save!

I have two cats. I'd save the black tabby as she's not a great swimmer. The fluffy ginger one has already fallen off my boat three times and manages to get back on unaided

CHild every time without question, the bond between parents and children is something different to that between partners, a tougher choice would be if you have 2 kids and both were in the water which one would you save?

The emotional answer is to save the kid as you are a protector.

I think it depends on more than that... how much food you have, how long you will be on the boat, how big the icebox is and is it just one of those little gas stoves.

A child would be easier to cook but wouldn't last as long as an adult.

I think i can honestly say if i left my own child to die i would never have any more children, you cant replace a child and i wouldnt see myself fit to bring another child into this world after i had let my last one die when i could have saved them

If i tried and failed i would have to accept i did my best but to leave them to die because i favoured saving someone else over them i could never live with myself

Theres noones life i value over my children, my children are forever and the only people in my life who will always be there

you said two people had to witness it and implied only enough room in raft for two so if I save both two of them will witness it and then insurance still pays out. but if you insist ill save my child.
