i know its cheaper and easy now too download on amazon etc but being an avid reader( adventure ,crime murder mystery) i just love the feel and papery smell of books

Books.

I used to love getting books from the diary and sometimes you’d get books with notes written on the pages or a shopping list lost amongst the pages.

I like real used books that have been touched. There is a history to them and they have that musty smell that I quite like.

I enjoy holding a book, the smell, being able to visually see how much I've read or how much I have left to read.

books 100%,,

if you lose your kindle you lose your entire library,,,

plus you cannot lend a friend a book on kindle

if your kindle goes out of charge you cannot read anything,,,

Do they not back up to the cloud, or are able to redownload purchases from Amazon? .

Can't change the font size on a book. And you don't need a light. Two plusses for kindle. Not that I actually use one

Anything to do with cooking, baking or cake decorating has to be a book that I can write notes and ideas in and accidentally spill things across the pages whilst using. My collection of trashy novels are hidden on my kindle.

I’ve switched predominantly to audio books now as I spend a fair bit of time driving. Otherwise it’s e-books as I am trying to not have so much clutter.

That said I went through a phase of maximising my library card and loved that.

I always have a positive affirmation towards people I see reading physical books

I scribble notes in cookbooks and tweak menus. Find the pages stick together if I spill stuff on the pages!

I'm not a kindle fan, but:

- Your books are stored on amazon

- You can lend some kindle books (maybe all)

- You an read your books on a phone with the kindle app, or a PC.

But, still, yeah - go books!

All my kindle books are available on my Amazon account, and I can read them on my phone as well as my kindle.

I can increase the font size, make notes, etc. It's a much better option than books for me as I have a visual impairment.

I cannot get to get grips with audiobooks. I can listen to podcasts for hours but try and listen to an audiobook and I zone out and get distracted.

On the kindle v books issue I much prefer a book, its tactile, it pleases the senses more than an appliance. That said if I'm off to catch some sun round a pool for a fortnight it's Kindle all the way.

I have far too many times had to delicately separate pages that had become one. There have been one or two casualties, each of which I have mourned.

Books, I did use my kindle for a bit but soon came back to books, I get out walking quite a lot and get really excited if I find a Phone Book Box,I always keep books I've read in my car so I can swap them

I love reading, in fact both of us do, and while the kindle is handy, you just can't beat the feel and smell of a book

Books. My "to read" pile is currently at 21, though... I do have a Kindle which is handy now and again, if I have to travel light and can't fit a book or two in my luggage, but generally a paper book is best. I spend all day looking at a screen so it's a nice respite too.

I like both ,

I have a kindle,but still enjoy going to charity shops for books or to the library.

A kindle is handy for going away ,as it's lighter and you download lots of books on to it ready.
