diet do you have?

I'm an omnivore so eat most stuff apart from devil's food like celery parsnips and turnips.

Are you vegan or veggie or pescatarian or anything else? Any pros or cons with particular diets?

Totally agree! I don't describe any food as junk. Doesn't seem to have done you any harm

My version of seafood diet is I see food and eat it! I know other people who have a similar aversion though.

Anything bitter. Olives, mustard, horseradish, wasabi etc. Urgh.

Apart from that I’m a delightfully easy date!

A vegetarian one mostly but without being a vegetarian- I just don’t like most meat so very rarely eat it (although there are exceptions).

Unfortunately I eat a lot of carbs when really I should avoid carbs.

When I have veggie meals it's often pasta based or baked spuds. I should probably cut down on carbs too...

More than likely

The product has to be heavily disassociated from the animal for me to eat it

I couldn't stomach a pork chop for example, but would scoff a ham & cheese toastie

I pretty much eat everything as I don't have any intolerances or allergies but I do try and stick to pretty healthy diet consisting of veg, some carbs and lean meat like chicken, turkey, salmon etc. I have noticed that since doing that though, red meat does sit heavier on me

There is an issue with a 100% vegan diet and that is that plants cannot provide cholesterol in any form whatsoever.

Whether you like it or not, this is a long term Heath issue as digestive acids are built on building blocks of cholesterol. Eventually, through the general flow, your natural reserves of this will deplete.

Well thank you. Became vegetarian as soon as I left home to go to uni at 18. Ex was vegan and he did most of the cooking which is why I was mainly vegan - apart from cheese. Became fully vegan when I found out about cheese mites. If you don't know, don't look!

I haven't heard of them personally. Maybe more should be done to promote that diet? Though the government would then have to deal with paying state pensions for longer!

Do you mean cholesterol...?? There are two types, and you definitely still get cholesterol from plants:

LDL (low-density lipoprotein) (bad cholesterol)

HDL (high-density lipoprotein) (good cholesterol)

Vegans tend to be higher in HDL and lower in LDL.. Non-vegans tend to be the opposite (i think)

Cholesterol is only found in animal products – meat, fish, poultry, dairy, and eggs. There is no cholesterol in plant-based foods – even in high-fat plant foods such as avocados, nuts and seeds. So, it follows that a vegan diet is completely cholesterol-free
