Depends - some socials and within 5 minutes when there is an instant sense of non-attraction for example. Others can last a couple of hours when conversation flows? No set rules, I think

32 minutes. Unless either had a very long name, in which factor in additional introductions time.

Depends if it goes well could last a while, if there's no connection or attraction it's pretty quick.

Surely it depends on the time you have free to give to it. Mine have lasted at least 2 hours because everyone involved had time to relax and not worry about the time.

Not really a helpful answer but an answer that could give you more in your planning process

So long as you've made eye contact, it counts

I think a social should be longer than the journey to get there

I usually go for one coffee maybe 2 see how interaction is going! I'm aware I talk way to much! It's not even a nervous thing I just like to talk! Can tell if they are finding me to much and stick to the one drink! But on the whole 2 or 3 drinks latter and hours gone by we are still chatting x

I normally look to spend an hour or so on a social. Although if getting along well, it has gone into 3 hours.

I think a social should last as long as the parties meeting want it to...

Back on my single profile I had a few 'meet and greet' mini socials during my lunch break at work! 45 mins, quick coffee, see if we got on. I just didn't have the time to plan longer if we weren't compatible so this worked quite well!

Usually though anything from an hour or two to a whole evening is good

I suppose it depends on chemistry. If either of you realises you’re not interested I don’t think there’s any shame in politely saying so and going your separate ways.

If you’re getting on - as long as you want! I’ve had some great long walks in the sunshine with people whose company I was enjoying. Sometimes I’ve been there for hours.

Depends what you’re doing and how well you’re getting on ?

If you’re hating being there then end it..quickly…

If you’re loving it …then keep that MF going

If the occasion is in, say, a café or an ice cream parlour then a fleeting-greeting with a hearty handshake would suffice.

If it's Afternoon Tea in more quaint surroundings then, because of the venue, a few hours to an entire afternoon is usually acceptable...before you 'clinch the deal'.

.

As long as your heart/quim/penis tells you.

I've had some fantastic socials - an afternoon that turned in to a late night. Briefer coffees that left me smiling.

I think it's about how much you enjoy another's company, don't limit yourself in the delight of basking in another's glow.
