It appears Lance Armstrong is preparing to finally admit something lots of people knew already - he cheated his way to winning the tour de France, by using performing enhancing drugs.

Not sure he should bother, it will no doubt be a typical gushing apology which means nothing. He knew what he was doing, he gained spectacular wealth and fame from it and tarnished a sport and millions of supporters. What is saying sorry going to do? He should focus on his foundation which is the only good to come from his cheating.

Call me cynic but it’s probably timed to coincide with the publication of his memoirs

I think that there is a partial admission being discussed to try and reduce his ban and so he can still compete in triathlon.

But I doubt it will happen. He is already facing numerous lawsuits over this and an admission will also in effect be an admission of perjury.

I can't see him admitting it he will be sued for millions if he does plus face a lengthy jail sentence for lying on the stand, plus it will effect the livestrong foundation, I think he will just keep his mouth shut and keep his head down and let it all run its course

Livestrong was always more about promoting LA than fighting cancer anyway. But it still does a lot of good and has a lot of wealthy and influential backers and my understanding is that they are putting increasing pressure on Armstrong to fess up in an exercise of damage limitation.
