I normally get mine out of a tube. Takes some vigorous shaking sometimes though

Mayfair

Traditionally/historically, it's any form of titillation of the salacious variety.

But, yes, it's also a 'spread' for biscuits and crackers. Anchovy and 'stuff'....

Boston, Lincolnshire

Dave put a jar in a friends shopping trolley - while chatting to him - he and his both thought the other had bought it... Until they got home and realised.

Possibly... How do you make an anchovy taste even saltier? Grind it up and make concentrated paste out of it.. Although I think it's contents are a closely guarded secret kept in the tower, much like colonel sanders 11 secret herbs and spices..

Love it, but it is v.salty and needs spreading thinly like Marmite.
