Breakfast time

I have made a resolution to eat more breakfast as I'm really bad at skipping it. I'm finding it really difficult as I find it leaves me uncomfortable and feeling sick.

I'm trying porridge at the moment, as I know its good slow release food.

Any other ideas that might help me?

About 12 cups of tea. I rarely eat breakfast, I tend to have brunch around 11 as that's when my son has his lunch. X

Doh - should proof read before posting lol. I can't eat as soon as I wake up, I have to wait at least an hour. Try having your shower and getting dressed before you have breakfast.

If you're really struggling with solid food try having a fruit smoothie instead, but porridge is a really good choice and will keep you satisfied till lunchtime.

Thanks. I have been up a while. The smoothie thing is great other than I hate smoothies. Lol

I will try doing my routine of getting ready though as it may take my mind off it.

These are the two things I would have, porridge for the slow release that will stop you snacking before lunch or fruit smoothie, quite filling but refreshing at the same time. ?? ? ?? ?? ?? ??

How about a nutritonal drink instead.

Maybe a brew and flapjacks or something similar. They are slow releasing energy because of the oats etc.

On a week/work day, I normally have a couple of slices of toasts, a glass of juice and a coffee before I set off to go to work.

When I am camping, I would have a big fry up instead of toasts most of the mornings around 11:00h, which will set me up for the day until the evening meal.

When camping in the winter months, I would make myself some Ready Brek with Gold Syrup and cream, and have that before I venture outside to go to the shower block.

Weekends at home, I tend to have something more substantial than just toasts, like a pan-fried cheese sandwich fried in olive oil.

I quite like a bowl of bananas and custard for brekkie

Use low fat carton custard and it keeps for three days once open so will do more than one.

And smoothies are simple with a pot of yoghurt, a banana, a handful of still frozen berries and a spoonful of oats and a stick blender.

For those who like them, natch.

Have a smoothy if you want to get fat mate. Try a MR (Meal replacement) drink or bar, also breakfast increases your metabolism which in turn burns fat missing breakfast suppresses it.

I also feel yuk if I eat too soon in the mornings, so I get to work 40 mins early every morning so that I can eat when I get there, I snack less on choccy and crisps that way but still have time to wake up.

I just ate brekky this morning much too soon and now I just feel sick

I like to make up a bowl of fresh fruit with berries plums pineapple etc. top up with a carton of apple juice to preserve it and stick it in the fridge. Great for early mornings or snacky moments, have with greek yoghurt for brekkers.
