We’d be at the end of the week.

Fried breakfasts for some.

Midday pints for others.

Early finishes for the majority.

If only

I was thinking on this yesterday....

I cannot see how this would work for some companies. It certainly couldn't be done at my work, where some of the staff work 6 days a week through necessity.

A 4 day week would be great but I'm self employed and today is my 18th day straight. Hopefully taking some time off this weekend.

I'm lucky to have found a full time job at a company operating on a 4 day week so today is my Friday

We do 4 longer days so don't lose any hours over the course of the week which was hard to get used to at first but now I can't imagine having to go back to 5 days a week!

I only do 4 days a week, then get 4 off. Best possible shift pattern if you're able to do them. 1st day off today.

I'm sorry to hear that. Being SE is so tough at the moment. I hope you can get a decent break soon.

How could you have a mid-day pint? There'd be no staff at the pub.....

Where would you buy the food for the fry up if the shops were shut? You couldn't have one at a cafe as they'd be shut too.

And lets hope everyone finishing early walked or drove themselves to work because there'd be no bus/tube/train drivers working of course.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I do a 4 day week. I do 12 hour shifts. They are not set days though so unfortunately sometimes you can be working up to 8 days in a row before you get a day off depending on the way your rota falls.

Staggered rotas. Two teams working 4 on 4 off can give 7 day a week cover if required. I work 37(paid) hours which I do in 4x 10hr days during the week. Every weekend is a long one..

So that would be 3 days in a week I’d be waking earlier than I’d need to.

I can understand a 4 on 4 off shift pattern so the company is still operating. But if a business operates Monday to Thursday and shuts down for a 3 day weekend what happens when your Services are required on a Friday?

I'd probably get another job for the 5th day to get a bit better off

I do think it a bit odd for the companies in the trial that tried 4 days of hours but for 5 days pay and said the outputs were as good - surely they should be getting more outputs from the 5 days working!

Someone has to cover the weekend otherwise all those industries that keep the populous entertained on their day off wouldn't exist.
