some people are block happy on here, I was blocked once by a woman near me after sending a very nice respectful message asking what she was looking for and if she'd be interested in checking my profile to see if we matched, but no answer no polite refusal just message deleted and blocked.

It would depend on the situation. Sometimes its for a genuine unavoidable reason and if that is the case then there's no reason to block them, but if it was just a can't be arsed to show up or at least be honest and message to cancel then they deserve to be blocked.

I'd be intrigued as to what reason they gave. And if no reason were given, well then there's no reason to block. They're probably not even going to notice whether or not you block. It's not as if a massive boxing glove springs out the computer and bops them on the nose.

I've never really understood this obsession with blocking. I'd only block if the person was messaging incessantly (which has never happened to me).

Arranged to meet a guy for a social last Saturday night.

He goes quiet, and I message him, asking if it was still on.

A few hours later, he comes back and apologises that he's short of cash, so can't make it.

We say fine, next Saturday ok?

He says yes as he will have been paid.

Check with him mid week, he says 100% still on.

Here nothing, so early Saturday afternoon, message him to check.

A day later, still no reply...

Could he be short of cash, and embarrassed to bring it up again? Not sure how expensive a night it'll be, but you could offer to pay. Or just as likely, he's not worth it.

I've been late for two different meets over the years, one was cos I could not find a parking space, but she waited twenty minutes for me in the cafe and i was really relieved. The other was just before Christmas and I let her know a work meeting had run late, so I would be 15 minutes late, however traffic was awful so I was 25 minutes late and I got a text saying where was I and she was leaving - I did take a photo to show I had shown up, but I can understand being peed off waiting on a cold winters evening.

I would not block someone without hearing the excuse first, but I would hope that they did get in touch at the time to say they were running late or were not going to show up.

It's not an issue I've had since coming back as a single rather than a couple, but then I suppose I do more thorough vetting than the ex.

I remember there was a no show who he didn't block that then tried to organise again two weeks later without ever acknowledging that they'd just ghosted and not turned up. So I blocked them.

If I did have a no show, I'd give them a couple of days to reach out and explain before I'd block them. But sometimes life happens and I have no issue with that.

Get this! Chatting for a few days and arranged to meet her. Drove 40 miles to the address given and messaged when there. She said I wasn’t there so took a picture of the location and sent it. “Sorry I forgot I moved” was the reply and gave me another address the other side of town. I don’t think we get enough meets booked in to have no shows but we’d definitely block!

When we first joined we had a couple of no shows and blocked them. Since then we’ve been a bit more selective who we arrange plans with.

We have to arrange a sitter and plan it all so if we get let down that’s our chance gone for the month

I've got an 18yr old car, I broke down years ago on my way but fortunately I had their phone number and they believed me, we had quite a few meets after my car was repaired, I wonder how many people would block me if it happened again ?

I would have believed you because these thing happen and it’s understandable that you couldn’t make it. Its when you get excuses like my dog is sick or my baby sitter is late then its a issue for me (they are just not really believable as they are way over used)

As long as your speaking to the person and they give a plausible excuse can't see why you would block, feeling sexy is a mood and moods go for whatever reason so it could be that or it could be nerves i had a meet with a woman who suffered terribly with nerves she didn't turn up but kept me informed after the fact but same day and when she eventually did turn up we got on great

I will always block a no show if I don't get an apology and a honest reason.

I go to the trouble of showering fresh getting clean inside and out, not eating anything for a good four or five hours before the time, so my little blue helper works as it should, lay out towels and make sure the bedroom is warm, clean tidy and smelling nice and dress in a way which the guy may like. So I take a very dim view of no shows. Also my heart goes out to T gurls and C D 's who must go through a much longer "getting ready" to rock time what with make up and all, only to be left hanging by no shows. It's rude ignorant and extremely bad manners.
