iv been on fab for a while now and have thought about the idea of going to a club as quite an intriguing idea. however i would be extremely nervous about going for my first time but even more so with knowing no one or going their alone

When you go to the pub or other social places do you always need to be with someone?

If you go with another man friend then very few couples will approach you and if you approach them together you’ll seem intimidating.

Go along to a social first if a club makes you really nervous. You’ll probably meet a few regulars so if you decide to go to a club later it won’t be as intimidating.

I think we'd all guessed that.

The question about whether you only go to a Pub or Nightclub on your own was still a valid question.

I would suspect that most people would only go out to a pub on their own if they know there would likely be people they know when they got there.

To be fair I was in the same boat thinking its going to be awkward and people might judge me or whatever, so I done what people have suggest on here first and went to a social (bristol social) it was full of really friendly people MF/ M/ F and after a drink to 2 people approach you and you get talking and you start to relax, to this day I haven't been to a club either but if it's anything likes the socials you'll be fine

I have done and when I was single I always always quite successful.

Ladies often told me a single, sober and confident man made a nice change from boozed up gangs of “lads”.

It’s a long trek from Whitehaven to any club mate (it’s bad enough from Penrith), but out of all the clubs I’ve been to, No.3 at Chorley and Club f near Durham I found to be the most single-guy friendly

Just give it a go. You’re more likely to be underwhelmed and wonder what all the ‘fuss’ is about, but equally you could be blown away and can’t wait to go back again! It all depends on who is there while you are! Good luck

We would say go for it OP, but choose location and time carefully, and see what’s going on their first.

Our first, and only club visit was extremely off-putting to the point where we haven’t been to one since.

We have plucked up the courage to try again but are going to a ‘social only’ event this time

I’m a single guy who will often go to clubs on my own I love the feeling of trying a new place and not knowing what to expect or who is going to be there

Just go along have a walk around be polite and don’t go with any expectations if you play with someone happy days if you just chat to people then the next time you visit you’ll already know someone and won’t be as nervous but I’m sure you’ll have a good time either way

My first time I was nervous as hell when I parked up outside. I counted to 3, got out and rang the bell before I talked myself out of it. Once inside, it felt like a Sunday afternoon in a working men’s club, then what I imagined a Friday night in a swinger club might be. Friendly yes, but overall, quite subdued.

The next place I went to was Townhouse, on a party night (Vicky’s birthday), and it was three floors of Roman orgy…

This is often the issue for many. They're great at putting on a front online, posting photos, sending messages and 'talking the talk'.

However, when it comes to meeting they'll often back out, will state 'nerves' as a reason not to go to a club and will sometimes claim experience in or a willingness to try all manner of activities, yet when push comes to shove can't actually 'walk the walk'.

It's the peril of online interaction. You'd think on a site populated by adults seeking sex with other adults that people would be a little more 'adult' in their approaches and interactions.

If you don't have the balls to walk into a building alone then it's unlikely that your balls will be bumping against someone's arse anytime soon.

look at the comment, what I read is if you don't have the guts to go to a club, then you won't be getting any sex.

I would imagine some guys may see that as they would have to go to/or increase their chances of meeting their goals, by going to a club.

This is fab and if a person doesn't want to turn up then they don't have to, this is a rule of fab I have read in the past many times, (no replies to my messages, can't get a meet etc, answer - that's how it is deal with it.)

It’s always been like that though with any club. Women have rarely paid to get in clubs. Not saying it’s right but it’s not just swinging clubs

Nope. It wasn't a comment purely about clubs. Read it again.

And of course people can back out of meets. but there are ways to do it and ways not to. Many don't seem to know the difference, hence the frequent forum posts and status updates re alleged 'timewasters' and 'fakes'.

If you're looking to meet someone for sex you should be adult enough to not need hand holding in your interactions, whether that's going to a club or sourcing a meet on here.

I would say go to socials drinks first before going to a club. Great way to meet people. I can totally get that it must be very daunting for single people to visit a club first time. We were a couple going and that was nervous enough for us lol. Not all people have as much confidence as others and shouldn’t judge.

Once you get in and start chatting to people you will relax and hopefully find what you are looking for. Good luck

It's best to go regularly, if you're a single man. As sucb, the 1st visit is best viewed as a prerequisite, for future enjoyment. Management will show you around, give you guidance etc. Don't assume that you'll get sex that, or any, night. You can say hello to a few people, progressively seeing and meeting some on several occasions.

If you view it as more of a formality, with a chance to let your haif down a little, you'll probably not think of it like a huge mountain to climb. Perhaps just think about staying an hour or so, so that you're not under a lot of pressure.

Just go. What’s the worse that can happen? Even if you spent a few awkward hours no harm will come to you.
