No it's not well said. It's an attempt to garner sympathy by suggesting that others are hurting his feelings. No one even KNEW his wife was dead. How would they ? We've all lost someone and some of us more than one in a variety of painful ways but we don't start dictating what others can say or not say and then allude that they should have KNOWN about your family circumstances. As for the bloke ‘alluding’ to it , the only thing I took from his comments were that he’d been cheated on at a rugby club and was now an ‘ex’.
