Today I will be doing one of my top three comfort foods.

"Wtf is comfort food"

It’s what keeps you warm on the bus into town.

Salmon encroutes for shoes, hollowed out sausage roll for the old chap, sliced bread held together with spaghetti for the torso, side of beef to sit on and a flan case for a hat.

If I need comfort food - I need comforting.

Which means I’m not cooking. So my comfort food is something someone else has cooked. One of my daughters’ makes a lovely pasta dish which she invented especially for me when I came out of hospital- so that’s top of the list.

Failing that - takeaway, most likely Chinese.

"Today I will be doing one of my top three comfort foods.

Dearest OP, my "comfort food" transcends beyond the food: prelude with a nice autumnal walk, kick some leaves, take in the effervescent air, back indoors in time for the piping hot and satisfying Shepherds Pie, earthy gravy, log fire, a weathered armchair, served up with a glass of the fine stuff and a more'ish bowl of Jam Roly Poly with Madagascan-vanilla custard.

You're invited.

My mum had that earlier today.

A shop bought one though, from Tesco.

Which is odd for her, as she always prefers making her own, being quite picky about cooking the cauliflower properly and having the strongest cheese she can buy.
