So what's your UK shoe size and does it always stay the same. I was told recently I had to go up a size for a particular pair of shoes or wouldn't fit. Same with clothes, you can never be confident your normal size will be fine. In the words of a famous forumite, what's going on here guys?

Gone from a tight 8 to a 7 and a half, 7 in some shoes. I think it's because there's less weight squashing my feet out.

My shoe size has remained a constant 10 for the past few years.

My 13 yr old Grandson revealed yesterday that he also takes size 10 and that he is 6'2" tall, same as me, he is however 5 stone lighter than me.

I am not sure size 9 is dainty. It's possibly the most common shoe size for men and 6 for women

Depends on what shape your feet and the shoes are.

I don’t get on with narrow clown shoes. If I went up a size to accommodate my foot width then I would have stupid floppy toes.

Welcome mate to the life of a woman. I have clothes in my wardrobe that is a size 10 to 20 and shoes from a size 6, 6.5 to 7. It's been this way since 2000. They just stick whatever size label they want on it doesn't correspond toe reall inches/centimeters...

If you go to a shoe maker they'll tell you your real size.

My brother got shoes made to measure years ago and he was 3 sizes different to what he had to buy off the shelf.

7/8 depending on manufacturer.

Women's wide, men's regular where the shoes are otherwise identical (hiking shoes)

If I had a magic wand it'd probably be 8 in one foot and 7 in the other, but squashing my bigger foot is more comfortable in practice.

And yes, as some have intimated it all depends on the manufacturers, who seem to be a law unto themselves in regards to universal sizing.

Unless they are sketchers in which case it's at least a 11. And still a wide fit. American sizes are smaller.

Always been either a 9 or 9.5 depending on the make/style of shoe, but it doesn't really matter because one of the constant laws of the universe is that what ever size you take, will be the size they have none of when your looking
