I know that a lot of fabsters think of them as lazy, but as a form of saying I'm interested in you, do you not think they serve this purpose?

I don't mind them and sometimes wink back but only to those who I'm interested in chatting to, everyone else I just delete after peeking of course

Brighton - even Hove!

If someone is interested, why not say so with a message? My profile says no winks, if people want to meet me, they can ask with words not emoticons.

See them as a sign of interest, no different to if you are out in a bar and someone winks at you. You either return or ignore

"Dont mind them but tbh dont pay that much attention to them "

I think this is a reflection of the general attitude.

I used to do a lot of winking ...but don't tend to bother now, for this reason. TO be honest I'd be surprised if many women have time to check them, given that they tend to inundated with messages.

Why look at winks when you have messages?

because wen uv spent hours of time messaging people, to just keep getting deletes, a wink just says hi im interested without the hassel, and if a wink comes back then a message can be then written it may be a lazy option but its a tool thats there to be used. just like u fems and couples love the block button , u could see that as lazy to instead of a polite no thanku people rather block block block again a tool used as its there so why not a wink

I like them, receiving is a nice icebreaker and I often send one to people who interest me.

If they say no winks then I don't send one.

I don't see them as lazy, just an excellent way to express an initial interest in someone

One of the great features of Platinum membership on Fabs apart from being able to look at other people's friends only pictures and deleting your sent emails in other people's inboxes is being able to send unlimited winks to the same person.

I have used this feature to devise a morse code-like system of communication to other forum users.

Winks are magic.

If they come from an undesirable they are binned like pizza leaflets.

If they come from someone fanciable they are given the same treatment as a registered letter on gold plated velum.

I guess mostly winks are fairly harmless…….

But sometimes them people who've got one of those involuntary eye twitches can be quite scary….

I like winks, if we like the person we wink back if not no harm done. We sometimes wink people ourselves it's a good way to start communicating

I love the winks. Seems I tend to get them from couples who say are not looking for single guys. I think its a good way of saying admire a profile and see if get a recipicoral wink back. I tend to search in my local area and have broadened this due to winks I have received from further afield. Gab would be lesser without them

I love 'em.

When I'm not getting any actual sex I employ them frequently. And every night at bedtime to help me sleep.

Oh hang on.... winks, you say?

They are a polite way of saying " hi! I liked your profile and would like to get to know you - if you are interested" - what could be nicer...

We don't mind recieving them and just see them as another tool on the site to show intrest in a profile. We will uaually message someone back if they intrest us just to say thanks for the wink and then the ball's in their court if they want to take the conversation any further.

I make an effort now to look at winks,

Mostly I dont actually look properly if Im honest,

I would send a wink though.

I really like them, in clubs,

he winks, I smile, we move towards each other and then things start

In all honesty they tend to get ignored so don't feel anything really about them.
